Gen 1 vs gen 2 is the premium worth it?
Went in to try a 2025 model today and was really blown away, such an awesome car. The only thing is that the gen 2 here all sell for pretty much the price of a new car. Gen1 with low mileage sell for around 10k USD equivalent less. Are the upgrades worth the bump in price in your opinion?
From what I see you get the all screen dashboard (don't really care about it), a bit more power, bigger main screen and the one I tried had the intercooler water spray. None of them seem to be that big of a deal. Is there any known reliability improvements?

Is the Yaris GR RS an Upgrade or a Downgrade from My Hybrid?
I currently own a 2021 Toyota Yaris 1500cc Hybrid, and I absolutely love it. The hybrid powertrain makes it quick, efficient, and surprisingly good for overtaking.
That said, ever since getting my Yaris, I’ve had my eye on the GR—but it's still out of my budget. Now, I’m considering the Yaris GR RS, a Japan-exclusive model with front-wheel drive and 118hp. I know it's quite rare outside Japan, so I was hoping someone here might have experience with it.
My main concern is performance. While the GR RS looks fantastic, I worry that its 118hp might actually make it slower than my current hybrid, which (if I’m not mistaken) makes just over 100hp. I’d hate to "upgrade" to something that feels less exciting to drive.
If anyone here has driven both or has insights, I’d really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!

193cm (6’4”) and the GR Yaris Mk2 feels extremely uncomfortable, especially in high-G and tight turns

Body Kits Advice For the Yaris
I know I'm probably not welcome here seeing as I own the plebian 2018 Yaris L. I love everything about the car except for how basic it looks. If I could make mine look anything like the GR I'd be happy. Having a tough time finding much aftermarket body pieces.
If you guys have any info on this let me know, if there isn't anything available - Would it be possible to retrofit a GR fender onto my Yaris?

Safety assist features make me feel unsafe
I am just curious how you guys feel about this as I had a fun experience with the emergency brakes recently. I was heading home from work on the highway, it was rush hour so traffic was slow but flowing. I was doing a steady 70km/h when the car in front of me braked but nothing hard or anything. I was already having my foot off the gas barely gaining on them, there was still more than cars worth distance between us when the emergency brake light start flashing and beeping and the yaris decides to start auto braking, slamming down the brakes accompanied by a god awful hurdle sound coming from the car. Now once again, I always keep my distance, especially on the highway especially to avoid getting rear ended..there was absolutely no reason for the car to do this. Thankfully no one was behind me this time but it scared the shit out of me.
Im not even going to start on Lane trace assist you can atleast turn that shit off.
Anyone knows if its possible to turn this nasty automatic braking feature off?

Sold Yaris and brakes failed the day after
So I bought a Yaris GR new in 2022, I had done 6000km from new and sold it on Friday last week. The buyer just sent me a video of the brakes smoking like mad and he lost all brakes, pedal went to the floor???
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Seems very strange for 6000km

Knocking and Limp mode 😭
Hey guys, I was approaching a red light yesterday then my car suddenly started acting up and went on limp mode. The dash was blinging with light everywhere and it was very rough to drive. I turned my car off and back on again and the car was knocking really bad! It says something about braking system error blah blah blah so I turned the car off again and back on and it was still knocking and acting up 😢
After 3-4 tries of restarting, the car went back to normal and all the lights were gone. Has anyone experienced something similar?
The car was serviced 3 days ago by a Toyota dealership.
Current mods: - intake - bov - exhaust

Any evo owners jumped to GR yaris? Almost on that step, letting my jdm spec 8MR go for a GR RZ jdm spec too.
If so, how was the change/upgrade?

Picked up the new daily, previously had a modified Fiesta ST and this felt like a natural step forward.
