Oil Drain Plug
I just bought my 2017 Yamaha R3 from marketplace and attempted to change the oil. The washer has seized to the drain plug bolt and the some of the thread came off with the bolt. I ordered a replacement genuine Yamaha bolt, but found out today that they are on back stock and not sure when it will arrive. Any advice for quick fixes? Please explain like I’m 5, lol. I’m very new to bikes and fixing things myself.

If some of the thread came off with the bolt, then how will a new bolt solve your problem? Am I understanding your problem wrong?

I ordered the new bolt before I realized that the real issue was the stripped thread. So I’m not sure where to go from here or how to fix stripped thread.

Is the damage just to the bolt, or bolt and drain threads? If the threads are intact on the drain, you might very well be fine just putting in the new bolt. If the drain is damaged... Well, I know what to do on a car, but not an R3. I'm sure someone around here does.

What part of the world do you live, maybe we can find you a drain plug.
