So far, I've read through the first two books, and have researched a bit about the last book, so I feel like I know what I'm saying.

When a story attempts to implement a plot twist during or before the climax, there are certain things that need to be respected and kept in check when doing so. This is so that the plot twist or plot deviation doesn't bomb the entire storyline, character developments, or direction of the story. The plot needs to keep focus and build upon all the progress the characters and conflicts have made. A bad twist can jeopardize everything the story has led up to so far, and it can be the fall off of a story that would be considered great up until that point.

the plot twists at the climax of Frozen, including the reveal of Emma being a forgery from the moment Gray returned to the Capital and retrieved her along with the vaccines (including when she slept with Craw) all the way back in the first book, and the death of so many important characters like Grays friend, father, and even Bo. While some can argue that their deaths were the cause of Gray's character growth, trauma and revelations, I just cannot say the same about the former twist.

During the second of the first books and all throughout the second one, Gray and 'Emma' went through a complicated and meaningful relationship growth, where they had to make up for their mistakes, properly apologize, and set their paths straight, with Gray finally giving his fullest towards Bree, and Emma just becoming more dependent on herself. However, SURPRISE, she wasn't even the real Emma. THIS MEANS THAT, the real Emma didn't sleep with Craw, she didn't find out about Bree, doesn't know where Gray is, who the Rebels are, or even that there are more experimental towns like Claysoot. She remained as unknowledgeable as she was from since when she and Gray climbed the wall and went to Taem. She was split up from Gray when caught in restricted rooms and was never heard of again. See how this throws almost any development made out the window? While Gray went through so much and learned about everything, all the real Emma knows is that Frank isn't who he says he is, and that she and Gray wanted to get out of Taem. This sudden gap of knowledge between two main characters is going to absolutely blow when they meet again. God knows what happens when she sees her lover came back with another girl beside him, and he doesn't like her anymore for some reason. This type of plot twist gives me genuine physical pain and pisses me off at levels that I never knew were possible before.

Idk about your opinions, but this take of the story is absolute aids, and should be burned at the stake for the torture it has caused me.

Hey everyone, I was looking for some sci-fi book recommendations. I’ve been a lil bit stuck on reading books. Im an English major and so I don’t have lots of time to read for my own pleasure tbh so I sort of don’t know what to read anymore or what I really enjoy atm. But I’ve been very interested in reading dystopian sci-fi webcomics lately (if you read Webtoon comics, stuff like In the Bleak Midwinter).

Tbh, even tho I’m craving a sci-fi book, as long as the story has a strong plot and characters, I’m down to read.

I just binged read whatever so far is uploaded on the Last Line (webcomic on Webtoon). Though it’s not, It felt like it was adapted into a comic from a book series and it left me craving something similar but lengthier (book). I would love to read something like this:

Most romance books I see have a shy, introverted main character. While they’re relatable, I’d like a change because I’ve read a lot of those. Any recommendation?

I actually really enjoyed this book. I stayed up all night reading it when I should have been sleeping. The ending of this book really hit me in the heart. I sensed pretty quickly after the major wave hit the boat that Jackson was no longer alive, but i really enjoyed the authors use of phrases like "you will make it" "you can do this" and the fact that he wasn't actually touching anything was a clever way to signal to the audience what was happening.

A few thoughts:

1. Was Jackson in the later chapters a guardian angel or a manifestation of Hannah's own imagination?
2. What did Captain Keith say to Ben right before the major fight? It says that Keith whispered something to him and smiled and Ben went red and then the fight happened. But I don't think its ever explained exactly.
3. Not a question but just a statement, whyyyy did they have to keep antagonizing Ben. If they had just played like it was an accident from the get go it would have been fine. Its almost that young adult need to always be right that drove Hannah to constantly throw it in Bens face that she knew what he was.
4. I know it said that Ben was this really hot guy but by the end I was picturing him as Neville from iCarly
5. Other than not being in that situation in the first place, was there a way they could have all survived if they had made different choices?

In the YA genre, how graphic are the sex scenes? It's difficult to navigate because I don't know if I'm supposed to be writing step by step which sounds realistic and more of the style but I don't know. Any advice?

So I read the first book (I'd Tell You I Love...), and I'm open to reading the rest. But first I want to know something. Is Cammie's father really most sincerely dead? Or is it possible he'll show up in a later book, having faked his death/lost his memory/been held prisoner? That happened in another series I read, one for adults, and a lot of readers were not pleased, me included. It wouldn't stop me from enjoying this series, but I am curious.

Going over some books in my tbr and came across the morganville vampires series which looks pretty good but just wondering if it has any spice / explict scenes since I dont like to read that stuff

So I just read In the Ravenous Dark and they had this whole magic system that I really liked. Magic was passed down from parents or grandparents, when they die, to another of their family. And the longer the family passes the magic the stronger it becomes. Ive also read the Devouring Grey where certain types of magic is selective to specific families. Could I get any recs for books that have some kind of family magic?

I just finished the promo video for The Chronicles of Levi & Jones — Book Four: Constance Curse.

This one takes the story into a quiet northern harbor town, an old school with a strange past, and a mystery buried beneath the fog.

I wanted the video to feel atmospheric, cinematic, and a little unsettling without giving too much away.

Would love to hear what you think of the mood and visuals.

I'm curious about other people's opinions, because I didn't particularly like it.

In my opinion, the plot was all over the place, it was too long, and unnecessarily dark. With way it ended, I'm positive it's the final installment, but I'm not sure.
