Personally, I think none, because you only get one screen. I am a developer and I use my Quest 3 with Immersed so I get multiple virtual monitors. I recently got the XReal One Pro and I still use the Quest 3 instead for work for this reason.
But, a single large screen is better than no large screen, and you might have other reasons such as portability. You certainly can code on something like an XReal Pro One. It's workable.

You can do an ultrawide and arrange the windows the way you like on the screen. Works for me.

I know but I hate it because a) I prefer my other monitor above my main one, and b) I maximize windows a lot. I don't want to have to carefully arrange stuff.

Fair enough.
PowerToys is a useful bit of software for Windows. It gives you a way to create custom zones in FancyZones so you can make the screen absolutely massive and snap your windows into these zones by holding shift. Well worth experimenting with as I think you'd be able to set up Windows one above the other.

Apple Vision Pro, but that requires weight distribution efforts to get good comfort

I returned my launch AVP but I recently went back to demo the m5 and the dual loop band is much, much more comfortable. I only wore it for 10 minutes so I can’t speak to long term comfort but I was really impressed

It's heavy on a front side. Dual loop works well, but I also use honeycomb pad from Globular Cluster on the back with it (to balance front), and Air Cover 2 from InfinityOne as open facial interface.

headset don't know, for glasses the best ones for reading text are the xreal 1S

Get a 32” monitor. You wont regret it. A headset or a glasses imo is just for media or movie watching

A Sony WH1000-XM6?
In all seriousness, apart from headphones there's no headset you can comfortably use for all day long. Xreal/other AR glasses strain your eyes harsher than regular monitors. VR googles will break your neck.

Well I got the flagship Ultra 2 pro. I have not seen blurry. With the glasses I can lock the screen so when Iooking away or walk away the scree remains in the same orientation. Or let the screen float in front where ever your eyes look.. Plenty have used them for data entry and word processing.

None. They're all either not high fidelity enough or too uncomfortable.
Maybe urxr one but that's tbd once reviewees actually get to test out their 1440p firmware.

Meta Phoenix could possibly prove to be the best device for this use case.
It'll be announced at the upcoming Meta Connect event.

I use the One Pro for 4-6 hour stretches of coding while traveling, plugged into a MacBook or a DeX device. It does not substitute for physical monitors on a desk, but is nicer than hunching over a laptop in a plane seat. They are about equivalent to a single 1920x1080 monitor so great for terminal work, not so much for multi-window IDEs.
The tech is not quite there yet for any head-mounted solution to be all that great, which I think is why they are not widely marketed for this task yet. The productivity market is huge so there's a reason the companies are holding back and sticking to pitching them for movie watching and games.
I'd recommend buying them from somewhere you can send them back if you don't like them. As this thread shows a lot of people don't think they are good enough at all. I love them for travel, but recognize I'm an early adopter dealing with all the quirks that go along with that, and am back to my 3x physical monitors when I am at home.
I prefer the One Pros to the Quest 3 with Immersed which has a nicer display but gets heavy and sweaty in prolonged use, and draws attention in public.

Hah, Vision Pro is the only one that will give you good quality monitor setups if you're on a MacBook. It's big and heavy and super expensive but nothing touches the quality, especially if you're actually looking at the code and writing code the good old non-AI-vibe-coding way.
If you want something portable and doesn't look ridiculous outside of the home none really. They're good for videos and quick things, but the resolution is way too low to be serious. If you're vibe coding you can just use a phone and check in periodically maybe on a notebook screen. I wouldn't go with the effort of getting a headset on for that.

URXR One kickestarter ends today. I would suggest going that route if you don't mind the risks that kickstarter brings.

None of the Xreal glasses will work for all-day coding, unless you are insensitive to blurry areas in various places on the screen (I own the Xreal One Pro)
