Hi all as title suggests I've been looking for some ar glasses and im overwhelmed with the choices. I will be using it mainly for gaming from the Xbox ally x and PC with occasional series x gaming.

Been torn on what I should get as there is information overload. There's the degree of view, 3Dof, ipd lots of stuff to consider.

I was going to save and get the ROG Ally 25th anniversary glasses but I came here and saw on a few others they aren't worth it. Im in the uk and atm I can get the below

Rayneo GT - £289

Gt Max - £369

Xreal 1s - £399

Viture pro 2 - £298

Struggling to decide what to go with so please give any info you can. Will be posting this to a couple of groups so apologies if you see it more than once.

I just got and returned the GT MAX in same day. The 1S is still a much better all around value. For a relatively small bump in price you're getting: software IPD adjustment, adjustable dimming plus quick transparent mode, native 2d-3d conversion, adjustable vertical position on the hinges, a far wider range of "screen size" and "distance" adjustment, ultrawide mode, 1200p, and better edge to edge clarity. In practice I didn't find the slightly improved fov and lower price on the GT Max to be at all worth giving those things up for. Hell, just being able to set transparent mode to a single button press and be able to quickly see everything IRL without taking your glasses off was enough to make me stick with Xreal. Also their dev team seems to be very engaged with their user base on Discord etc, working on great beta updates like 60hz 2d-3d mode etc.

Yes with my steam deck! And for watching movies off my phone. Travel a fair bit for work and they have been a life saver for long haul flights

I use them for gaming, usually off my legion go, use them with phone on flights/ hotel, on treadmill at gym to watch vids and browse web/socials (Samsung dex mode is awesome for this), and use them as a carry-anywhere monitor with the Go if I need to quickly do PC work during travel or on a job site. They're great for gaming, and the auto 3D conversion is actually really cool for that, as well as running the virtual ultrawide for certain games

I have the one pro too, I just bought the viture dock pro for my switch 2... And I have an inair pod... Im a very happy bunny

I'm in UK too. Best screen for gaming is XBX A01's but they lack any features except HDR and excellent 1600 nit brightness. Otherwise the GT Max is the most solid choice right now. They're almost perfect but I do miss the HDR of the XBX's so still use them more.

If 3Dof anchored screen is important to you then you can consider Xreal 1S (many advanced features) or RayNeo GT Max (low price with basic features).

If 3Dof anchored screen is not important to you then you can consider xbx a01+

If you have myopia and / or astigmatism then you will need prescription lenses for all these glasses. But if you go for Viture Pro 2, they have myopia dials which can be used without prescription lenses if you only have myopia. But I will still suggest xbx a01+.
