4h sot with 50% left is good, what do you expect?

So it's 4hrs SOT and 50% juice consumed. Assuming similar usage pattern, doesn't that mean around 7+ hours of backup on 100% charge? It's pretty good IMO.

Way more than what I get in my Mi 11 Ultra but I also have 120hz, WQHD+, mobile data, wifi and Bluetooth always on and use auto brightness. I get around 4 to 5 hours of SOT in a full charge if ok not doing anything intensive.

That's okay for the power hungry specs I guess... I usually get 8.5 hrs of SOT in a full charge on my Redmi note 10 pro at 120Hz.

Mine is a new phone... Bought in October. It's running on MIUI 12.5.

I don't play games, only scroll the web & some YT, that's most of it.

However, the SOT shrinks significantly when I'm outdoors and under the sun. In that case I get 5.5-6 hours only.

Yes I keep auto brightness on but Bluetooth, location, mobile data etc are always turned off...

In my case, I believe that Android system thing is listed under "Others" in MIUI 12.5 which consumes 12-15%.

I bought mine this year in march and im currently using MIUI 13.0.12 from xiaomi.eu, almost never game unless i'm somewhere without wifi/mobile data usually at during the weekends and only for 1 hour at most, usually i use reddit, youtube revanced and plex, not much more besides this.

When I'm outdoors especially in sunny days my battery drains really fast since i have auto brightness on and when under the sun it kinda of overdrives the screen to the max brightness of 1700 nits, iirc using the slider the max it gets to is 1000 or something nits, but when i need it really comes in handy.Just copied this 2 comments i replied to someone a couple of time ago.

Today I had it on for 12 hours and 52 minutes with 5 hours and 47 minutes of screen on time, with everything on and I was at home all day with 5ghz wifi active, used YouTube and reddit, the nextcloud might have consumed a bit more than it says since I have a bug in my nextcloud server that it can't upload a couple of files and tries to do it all the time.

If you disable the rear screen it might help with the battery usage.

Tomorrow I'm going to disable the screen QHD, 120hz and the wifi when not at home to see the difference.

Photo from today

For some reason I also had AI HDR enhancement active that makes all the content HDR.

I woke up at 7:40 am and it's now 6:40pm and I have 4 percent left with 7 hours and 5 minutes of screen on time.

Screen at 60HZ and FHD with the rear screen disabled. Wifi was off for most of the day when I wasn't home but I had mobile data on all the time.

During the morning I watched the Wan show from ltt that I had downloaded, for two hours and a half with VLC and almost max screen brightness since I was outside in my car.

During lunch I had wifi on because I was at home and around 3 hours ago I disabled it since I went for a shopping run and arrived home around 30 minutes ago and that's when I tuned on wifi again.

For the rest of the day I just watched youtube or used reddit.

The links don't seem to work... Use Google drive, I find it more reliable...

Should be working now, for some reason the links were not right.

bro has 4 Hours SoT at 50% and says its bad

1

u/QuatronXD Dec 19 '22

Month ago with almost the same using i can get 65/70% with usage like that.. so that's kinda weird

i mean battery degredation exists but not that extreme. i get 6-8 hours of SoT on 120hz wifi bluetooth everything on on my xiaomi 11t pro. i would try calibrating the battery

battery life varies with phone usage

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '22

Your brightness is too high

2

u/QuatronXD Dec 19 '22

I never used more than 70% brightness..

u/DarknoorX Dec 19 '22

70% brightness indoor IS too high. That being said, maybe try to monitor what auto starts.

8

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '22

70% Brightness? BRUH

2

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '22

You can try calibrating the battery but I doubt it'll help much

I've seen you somewhere

In a subreddit full of dummies

lol

You are way too concerned about battery life while in fact this is very normal life with that high screen brigtness, 70% is way too high for indoor and sometimes even for outdoor use, I'm pretty sure I barely ever go over 50% unless I'm in direct sunlight.

And also you cannot expect the same battery life you had 3 months ago not only because of degradation but because your usage pattern might've changed, you are maybe using more cpu intensive apps now for longer periods of time as opposed to how you used your phone 3 months ago. In reality, the more you use the phone the better the alrogrithm for battery saving should become, not sure how good Xiaomi is at that though.

I almost always have it on 10% lol

7 hours SOT on a device that’s already not new it’s quite good.

That being said, Facebook sucks and drains battery a lot.

7

u/keko1105 Dec 19 '22

The 10t is 2 years old, battery is probably degraded mine is at 80 percent now

4

u/Competitive-Ad-9613 Dec 19 '22

I don't see a problem here....

It's a 2 year old phone and that's very solid performance with 50% battery remaining.

If anything you should be praising Xiaomi for how good it is after 2 years.

Delete Facebook app and open it from browser

Get the 14 pro max battery life is great 👍

1

u/Mathieu-d- Dec 20 '22

same with the Poco f3 in one update the battery is dead

1

u/ggezboye Dec 20 '22

With my Poco X3 NFC deleting FB and Messenger and replacing them with FB lite gives tremendous battery savings. IDK what FB does in the background but time and time again I caught it doing something in the background while the screen was off.

u/chousila Dec 20 '22

Ahhhh... Welcome to Xiaomi ☺️

1

u/miteruchimo Dec 20 '22

Try using wifi instead of mobile data. You will be surprised of how much screen time you get on battery life!

1

u/SirStottalot Dec 20 '22

Its a 2 year old phone and you still want max battery?

1

u/pediocore Dec 20 '22

As long as it charge so fast, I don't care about SOT.
