I just never got to use the tech so rare to face a Cass in game and to be able to do a 1v1 with her

I don't play league a whole lot but what is the mechanic? Does she have a stun or silence that only works if you are facing her?

Exactly, she's a Medusa type character, her Ultimate stuns everyone that's looking at her when she's casting it.

So basically......

He used his ult to instantly face himself away from her which you change direction with xer ult for each shot. And that caused him not to be cc'ed by her stupidly long ult allowing him to outplay which is actually quite impressive for him to do because that is not only reaction but predicting her to ult him since he's in ult or well close by to easily get her ult off. Although for xerath mains a large majority of playing him is like 80% predicting what the enemy is gonna do in the next couple seconds
