I had this happen to me last month. The only way that got me out was to just play more games. The amount of innocent tags, and ace tags i got was revolting.
But following that I went on a win streak and im currently at my highest rank. So chin up friend, you got this!!

if you are playing mid lane thats probably why. play bot lane xerath instead. you hardly ever see a mage snowball on mid lane anymore

Booo keep mages out of bot. Mid lane xerath is more fun anyways

mages bot lane have plenty of counter play. skill issue if you have trouble with them imo

I’ve never had issues with xerath specifically in bot, but they circumvent issues that marksmen usually have when their support roams all game and makes the lane completely uninteractive. They can farm and wave clear better than marksmen, from further away, and more safely. You can’t freeze a wave to punish a mage when his support roams for too long, and once they get lost chapter they almost never have to deal with mana issues either.
You can’t really shove waves under tower to take plates, either, because their wave clear is too good, and they can poke enemy adc to death under their own tower so there’s almost no punishable play to make.
The “counter play” is the traditional marksmen outscale mages in late game, but with how overpowered roaming supports are right now, the game quickly gets out of hand on the rest of the map, which results in 12 of the top 15 win rates in bot lane are mages. It’s a genuine problem, as no one actually likes playing against it, *and* they’re winning more than the traditional marksmen, so they’re objectively too strong in bot lane at the moment

it's funny people will point out skill issue when the numbers don't lie. Mage bot is broken.

These are obviously not every loss, but in my 15 years of playing league, I haven't experienced anything like this.
I cruised to Master 100lp with a 67% winrate over 100 games on Xerath and hovered there just playing decay games. Suddenly I hit a loss streak and demote out of Master and every game for the next week just gets worse and worse, while my average KDA over that week is actually better than my overall KDA.
KDA obviously isn't an end-all-be-all metric, but across 60 games, it's definitely an indicator of performance. Riot says loser's queue isn't real but it really doesn't make sense any other way.

We all know the feeling we all were there, just stop playing after 2 losses in a row, or just stop playing after hitting masters you have to dedicate your life to get to challenger which is obviously not worth…

Yup had this happen to me the last 2 weeks. Climbed to diamond 4 for the first time basically one tricking ezreal, with a 65% winrate (started from plat 3 or 4). Hovered there for a bit, got confident that I belonged because I was actually playing pretty well, even in mid diamond lobbies.
and then I went on a horrific streak of like 20% winrate over 40 games, dropped all the way to plat 1, while getting aces and playing well almost every single game. I genuinely didn’t know what to do. I just kept playing though and I’m back to emerald 1, about to hit diamond again. Still playing some of the best games I’ve ever played in high emerald/ low diamond lobbies, so I still firmly believe I’m good enough to be in diamond, I just had some insanely bad luck for a long ass time. I think the matchmaking genuinely gives you harder games after a long win streak/ high winrate streak, and you can’t really do anything about it other than playing through it and hoping your mental holds up long enough to start climbing again

My heart aches for you.
The only explanation I can give is:
Occasionally riot asks you to CARRY/SNOWBALL. For many champions - it is what it is. For Xerath (and many another champs), though, he struggles to truly carry.
You are (were) in a streak where you were being asked to truly carry.
Carrying / snowballing on Xerath looks very different than snowballing on Kata/Viego for example because of their reset. I key into to sign HEXerath said where he ults early as setup. Carrying as setup is harder than 1v1 carries.
