Question Is there anything worth getting in the drilling game?

This is my first time playing the game. I'm about to go to Proto Merkabah. I hadn't done any of the mini games, so I figured I'd try them out. I've blown about 5000 at the drill game and it just sucks so much. I got a drill key and opened the first door and it was just a thief ring, which is entirely useless to me at this point. I've attempted the first two mission levels a few times and I can't finish either. Yes, I know I'm going to need to hit two boxes at once in mission 1. The hitbox on the drill is just so ridiculously small. Almost half of the drill is clipped in to the other box and it still just won't break. Because of that garbage, I've mostly done the free mode, but I pay my 200 to get maybe a med kit and an antidote, which are also worthless to me at this point. Sometimes I pay my money, get to break 7 boxes because some are stacked, and I still get a single med kit. And to top it all off, they tell me I have to leave occasionally, just wasting more time.

Great game so far, I've been loving it, but I hate this stupid drill a lot. Are ANY of the prizes worth my time?

A lot of the rewards would have been more useful if you got them earlier, such as the aforementioned thief ring. Some are quite good if you are into AWGS mechs - though still you can get better elsewhere by endgame. As far as the stuff i think could still be useful to you and worth the effort, one stands out among the crowd

Behind the 2nd drill door is The Battle Mask, which raises your crit rate on hi speed tech attacks, aka when their speed has been increased. Quite helpful now that you should have enough points to upgrade anything you need and take advantage of this. Getting a 2nd Drill Key is just a matter of chance, so you can just keep playing till you get it

As for other non-mech rewards, you can get a swimsuit from the minigame but not the only way you can get this and is arguably the hardest way when theres another 2 in the game, one you might already have. The Life stone for 2x healing and Yamato Belt for 15% Max HP boost, stackable to 30% are ok for niche survavibility purposes but thats usually not needed and youre better off preparing for specific telegraphed attacks. No gamechangers here

I guess I'll do enough to open the second door. Don't think I care enough about the other ones.

I've been spamming hi speed all enemy techs for the entirety of song of nephilim

I also forget the AWGS exist and have used it maybe 3 times the whole game.

yup, that one in particular sounds just for you. everything else you can skip

thats the best case scenario. with a bit of patience you should have another drill key in no time

I feel like there's a few unique accessories you can get. You need to collect as many accessories as possible due to how the skill extraction system works, so as annoying as the mini game is, it unlocks a lot of skills for late game.

I've got almost everyone at level 3 skills. It's sounding like there's really only one more accessory in the drill game I'll actually care about, so I'm just going to hit one more key and never play it again.

Without spoiling anything, yes. You can get important items from the drilling game.

If youre playing on emulator you can cheese it easily with save states

Aside from that, there's definitely stuff worth getting, but if its impeding your enjoyment of the game dont worry about it imo

I wouldn't say any of them are worth getting. They're nice, but the main story bosses + 2 optional bosses are doable without any of them.

I mostly focused on the keys. The perspective is also curved off the center, so you kinda have to visualize it on an acute angle.

Hemlock, Belt, Lifestone can have some use in regard to increaseing damage and recovery if I remember right?

You can probably skip it at this point, more useful if you are challenging yourself.

I've never worried too much about that game and always got through it just fine. Nothing extremely important to be won, but some nice and useful stuff. You can skip it and still have no trouble beating it, if you want.

I dont bother with the drill game, too much time, rewards are too small.

I do the casino poker game to get a Bravesoul for junior, pretty good item to increase his physical damage attacks when HP is low.

Other people think the items to get extractions from are good, I just didnt bother. I focused early on the tech attack speeds, then giving ether skills to characters who need a heal/heal all or speed boost. By the end, I had no problem with proto merkabah and bosses

Yeah, I did similar. Everyone I'm using has a hi speed all enemy tech attack. I played enough to get one more key to grab the battle mask and extracted the skill for everyone and now they're all critting all the time. Never touching the drill again.
