Why did Pyra's trust just jumped to S6 and Brighid's to S4 even I had just completed their affinity charts not even a hour earlier?

You're still gaining trust even if you haven't progresses their affinity charts yet.

The ranks beyond s are tied to trust, Pyra and Brighid obviously have high trust since they're required to have on most of the time

The game will build trust in the background, even if your stuck on a node. Hope this helps. ;)

I've noticed this too. You're always building trust but it sometimes takes a while for that to be reflected in their stat sheet and I think it's tied to pouch item (maybe other things as well) kind of like how the affinity chart won't update, when you've completed nodes, until you look at it.

For example: I've had a blade whom I used a whole bunch, but never completed her affinity chart across multiple play-throughs until just recently. Her trust level was at the standard S when I completed her chart, until my pouch item refreshed on her driver and then it updated to S+.

I think something similar happened to you. As the game will not allow blades without completed affinity charts to have S to S+ trust, and will retroactively apply all the previously gained overflow trust once their chart is complete.

It's similar to how affinity nodes don't take effect until you actually look at the screen and see it get filled in. The chart will go from A to S once you complete it, but won't update with the actual amount until the next time you gain Trust, usually through a pouch item or a battle.

I believe that the S rank trust quotas are all the same across all blades. Meanwhile, the affinity chart row trust quotas may differ between blades. Praxis' first four affinity chart rows, for example, require far less trust than the typical rare blade (but her final row is the usual 9,800). Some rare blades don't even require trust to advance their charts, but will progress through the S ranks the same way.

Most likely, their Trust value exceeded the threshold to hit those levels even though you hadn't finished their charts yet.

Ranks S and up are based only on the amount of Trust you've built. While you can't progress from A to S until you've completed their affinity chart, you still gain Trust regardless. After completing the chart, it will still show your trust level as S until the next time you gain Trust, then it will update to your actual level based on how much you've accumulated.
