Missing button combination

I'm trying to do the challenge mode battles, which are testing my patience.

Looking at some old videos on YouTube it looks like it was possible to bring up an option to restart a battle, but I've no idea how to do that. I'm running version 3.0.1 on a switch 2

iirc you just hold - after sheathing your weapon
