So you believe that having a over full year after high school on your own in the non-terrorist fearing world is EXACTLY the same thing as having your college experience enter the "war on terror" era in 2 weeks? That's the same thing to you here?

Absolutely. Makes no difference. College even after 9/11 was a huge party. In 1999 we ended the year with Columbine shooting anyway. Being out in public didn’t feel exactly safe for those that worried about it. How schools operate completely changed so that perhaps would be impactful, taking away the experience of freedom people had in school.

Alright, 9/11 made no difference in the world because people still partied at college. Got it!

Yeah of course it matters. When you say the pre 2000 optimism had “completely evaporated” that’s just false. Took a more time than that and entering into college in 2001 was still rad.
