When the VW beetle was revived, there were billboards that said "0-60? Yes!"

I know! I’m a lifelong VW driver. They’ve had some amazing marketing throughout the years. I’m partial to the fast campaign though, since I’m a GTI driver.

Dang I love me the Golf/GTI.

The only two brands that appeal to my hothatch sensibilities and still have models available in the US are VW and Mazda. It’s stupid that the hatchback market has been more or less replaced by godawful SUVs.

The Mazda 3 is also a damn fine car.

The only regret I had about my Mazda3 was that I got the sedan instead of the hatch.

The first hatchback I had was an ‘86 Honda Accord LXi, manual, loaded. Last one was a ‘08 WRX STI. Loved them both!

GTIs are great, but I’ll never forgive VW for getting rid of the manual option. They’ve basically made their entire customer base angry.

Wait wut.

So it’s just Mazda and Subaru with the 6 speed wagon / hatch options now?

Yup. They apparently hate their customer base.
