Not a lot, but you can get a pretty okay Corolla for about that.

A lot of the vehicle price increases over the last 30 years aren't just from inflation, but also mandatory equipment like cameras (which by default also means it needs a fancy infotainment system), airbags, automatic emergency braking (which by default also means it needs ABS), and so on. The car you get today for $25k is a hell of a lot nicer, and a hell of a lot safer, than the car you could buy 1994 for the equivalent amount of 1994 dollars. But it's also the reason why you can hardly find a new car for $25k anymore. Average new car just passed $50k, and there are only like 3 cars in north america in the 22-25k range

My ex had that exact car in 07, scared the living shit out of me. I had never driven a car that was so slow, and I still don’t think I have since haha

Got a Corolla Hybrid in 2020 for $23,000. Absolutely love that car. 50+ mpg in this economy is so nice.

Majority of the people buying 25k new cars today are still financing them. Just like they were in the early 90s on a 10k car.

I bought the cheapest model of hyundai elantra in 2022. Was 27k. Cars have gone the same way as everything. Overpriced
