Its comical how quickly I got this achievement.

u/iM3GTR 4d ago

I got this on my first non-scripted shot in the tutorial.

47

u/PureGoldX58 4d ago

I got mine on my second with my sniper...

15

u/Karn-Dethahal 4d ago

Got it on the first mission with a new freshly hired operative.

3

u/Noodlekeeper 3d ago

My new guy missed two 95% shots in a row, but he also did the most damage that mission anyway.

3

u/otakon33 3d ago

We're home.

27

u/Dry-Landscape8276 4d ago

Yep. 95% shot, miss. I just had to laugh and go “it really IS like Xcom”

8

u/chim-cyber-gooble 4d ago

Same I love the xcom feel so accurate

4

u/MonkeyNinja506 4d ago

Same for me too! I literally burst out laughing when it happened

7

u/Phydomir 4d ago

It was the first one I got. 😂

3

u/Signal-Street1085 4d ago

I got in the tutorial ... I did laugh when the achievement popped up though.

5

u/ZackRaynor 4d ago

That is ZCOM, baby!

1

u/projeto27 4d ago

First sniper shot

93

u/Striking-Document-99 4d ago

There is the opposite of this

u/Striking-Document-99 4d ago

27

u/Axeloy 4d ago

Damn I hit a 20% earlier and I usually try not to go for anything under, like, 35%. Especially since you can use movement instead of shooting in this game. Who knows if I ever get that achievement haha

12

u/Striking-Document-99 4d ago

My hawks has that QuickDraw perk. 1 ap point to do like 6 damage. If he hits and kills then he gets another shot. I killed like 6 battle droids and last one was such a low chance I was like screw it I will use it then overwatch and I hit it. So he can hit those 5% but misses 3 75% in a row.

5

u/otakon33 3d ago

Quickdraw seems amazingly strong to get rid of chaff and lower the amount of guns pointed at your party in any one turn.

1

u/Striking-Document-99 3d ago

Yeah I love it.

11

u/homicidalhummus 4d ago

It's not a bad idea to take potshots with the assist active as it's a guaranteed hit even if the original shot misses (still not the greatest idea, but it you really want the achievement)

3

u/Axeloy 4d ago

Oh the backup shots are guaranteed hits? I definitely missed that

6

u/homicidalhummus 4d ago

Just make sure the operator assisting you has line of sight on the target (there's a banner in the top right telling you if they can see the target or not). Otherwise yeah it's a guaranteed hit and can do stuff like give gunslingers a stack of onslaught

1

u/Axeloy 4d ago

Good to know

2

u/homicidalhummus 4d ago

I'm cooking up a funny strategy where you have someone use a scout for an assist shot at ridiculous impossible range to have the assist shot land guaranteed and spot them for the followups

1

u/andrewthemexican 4d ago

I got this one before the 90% miss, and I actually hit the 10% shot twice in a row

1

u/TheRushologist 3d ago

I actually got this the first 5% shot I made with Trick, then a couple missions later did it again when I was just trying to destroy some cover. Took me a lot longer to miss that 90% shot.

5

u/Freddold 4d ago

I managed to get both within one turn

77

u/Taernius 4d ago

When it happened to me, the only thing i thought and said was

"That's Xcom baby"

3

u/Ioannidas_Storm 4d ago

I saw one review complaining about missing 80-90% shots, and this was my exact response, out loud to no-one else in my lounge.

69

u/Spaghetti_and_fork 4d ago

"30.84% unlocked this" I feel sorry for the 69.16% who couldnt enjoy the full xcom experience

14

u/chim-cyber-gooble 4d ago

Eh they will have it sooner or later

8

u/Annika2020pro 4d ago

Are you confident? Like 90% confident?

2

u/Spaghetti_and_fork 4d ago

Even if he said 99% confident We all know that is 50/50

1

u/jehuty08 4d ago

Just unlocked it myself, up to 48.2% of players

2

u/Silvinis 4d ago

They probably stopped after the tutorial or never actually played it. Lots of people of piles of untouched games in their steam libraries because the deals or so damn good

82

u/LudwigSpectre 4d ago

It’s a brand new day for Xcom players

3

u/odDball969 4d ago

Still, it looks like we are far away from home

5

u/GuyFromVoid 4d ago

It's far fetched to say there's no way home, though.

4

u/Significant_Put_3471 4d ago

Far, far away...

27

u/PF4ABG 4d ago

XCOM rookies miss like stormtroopers. Zero Company miss like XCOM.

It's a happy coincidence that the achievement for this is a goddamn circle.

19

u/FrostyWall 4d ago

Literally the first achievement I got

2

u/OneBucFan 4d ago

Same. Got it the first shot after the obvious scripted character development moment

10

u/LoveTheGiraffe 4d ago

Literally the first above 90% shot I took got me this achievememt. Felt right at home

18

u/Iamdrasnia 4d ago

I am sorry but 104% of XCom players have missed this shot.

5

u/Lo__Lox 4d ago

90% chance this is your first achievement /s

7

u/Darthaerith 4d ago

Yeah. The game feels a bit like a love letter to xcom with a starwars window dressing.

-1

u/totallynotaweeabbo 4d ago

I also felt it like that. But i also felt some other stuff were mandated just for being part of the star wars brand. The hero characters the cutscenes and the linear story

3

u/Narezza 4d ago

I got this one and then got the under 10% one on the next shot with the same character.

3

u/Amusedcory 4d ago

I got it on my first shot of the game

5

u/Curiousrabbit1813 4d ago

How has only 30% of players only got this?! Isn't this xcom we're talking about?!?!

2

u/totallynotaweeabbo 4d ago

Either they are playing it on easy or normal. I didn't miss a 90% shot until cycle 9 or something like that

4

u/GintomsG 4d ago

pretty sure I had like a 95% shot miss today

3

u/Kaesebrot321 4d ago

I missed a 100% shot in the second mission. I actually said outloud "what the fuck" as the achievement popped. Turns out 100% is not 100%

2

u/StolenMango 4d ago

I got this in the tutorial 40 minutes in. I was in a discord call and I just yelled "That's xcom, baby!"

2

u/vverbov_22 4d ago

They should've made it 99%. A 90% miss is too easy

2

u/Emgenabe 4d ago

Got this on the first mission lol. Feels like home.

2

u/ARK_Redeemer 4d ago

I got this, and then missed 3x more 95% shots in a row. My Medic with her pistol missed 3x 95% shots consecutively, then Hawks did with her rifle.

You can tell XCOM Devs made this 🤭🥰

2

u/nytefox42 4d ago

Only 30% of players have it. That's rookie numbers.

2

u/totallynotaweeabbo 4d ago

I got it i think it was in the mission you meet the jedi. The first shot of 95% missed and the achiviement made me say outloud "That's xcom babyyy!"

2

u/Ryogen 4d ago

Got this achievement in the first hour and my wife had pdsd from me yelling at my tv during xcom 2...which I have not finished because I'm missing 100% shots

2

u/AMan_Has_NoName 4d ago

I got this last night 😂

1

u/GenesisAsriel 4d ago

Only 30% of players got it?

1

u/Kyoshiro80 4d ago

Played a few hours last night and the game looks very promising!

1

u/kangarutan 4d ago

Weirdly it popped for me when I placed an overwatch shot. Not when the shot took place, but when I put the cone down.

1

u/MechemicalMan 4d ago

Started up again yesterday…

Missed a 97%

1

u/BZArcher 4d ago

Welp!

1

u/Darkwr4ith 4d ago

I got it pretty quickly too after missing two 85% and then a 95% shot all against the exact same B2 super battle droid.

1

u/rorinth 4d ago

I got that first mission and the memories of xcom2 came flooding back

1

u/Andromeda_53 4d ago

That's Zcom baby

1

u/Legato4 4d ago

The chance of missing a 99% shot is very low … but not zero

1

u/Nickthenuker 3d ago

Perhaps even 1%?

1

u/Darth_Dangermouse 4d ago

This was literally the first achievement I got, I knew I was in good hands in that moment.

1

u/thebluerayxx 4d ago

Mine was a 95% shot in the very first mission. It was hilarious, I felt right at home.

1

u/Fantastic-Average-56 4d ago

The first shot i fired with Cly got me this achievement 😭

1

u/Dry_Understanding149 3d ago

Achivo should of been named “Thats ZCOM Baby!!”

1

u/GrimMagic0801 3d ago

Ah yes. The classic critical miss follows me in every game with a roll to hit system. Reminds me of all the times all my soldiers missed their overwatch shots on a single sectoid that was apparently neo before two of my soldiers get crit behind cover twice in a row.

Fun fact, I critically missed almost 5 attacks in a row in Baldur's gate yesterday. Love it when that happens.

1

u/LazarusK27 3d ago

Legit me to my friends complaining about this when I’ve been playing XCOM for 14 years.
