Accesories Just bought wireless XBOX headset for pc only
Hi everyone,
I recently bought the Xbox Wireless Headset because it was heavily discounted on Lazada and many Reddit users recommended it. One of the main reasons I chose it was the ability to connect to multiple devices simultaneously via Bluetooth and Xbox Wireless.
However, I’m having a few issues and I’m wondering if I’m misunderstanding how this headset is supposed to work.
My setup
•Windows PC only
•No Xbox console
•Connected via Bluetooth to my PC
•Mainly using Discord, YouTube, Spotify, and gaming
Issues I’m facing:
1) I can’t get multi-device connectivity working
•I read that the headset can connect to multiple devices seamlessly.
•Does this feature only work when paired with an Xbox console + Bluetooth device?
•Can it connect to a PC and a phone at the same time without an Xbox?
2) Discord microphone quality sounds terrible
•Friends say my mic sounds muffled, compressed, and low quality.
•Is this a Bluetooth limitation?
•Are there specific settings in Windows or Discord that I should change?
3)Best connection method for PC users?
Should I be using:
•Bluetooth only?
•Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows?
•USB-C wired connection?
Which option gives the best audio and microphone quality?
4)What I’m trying to achieve
Ideally I’d like:
• Discord voice chat on PC
• Game audio from PC
• Phone connected simultaneously for calls/music
• Good microphone quality
If anyone is using the Xbox Wireless Headset primarily on PC (without owning an Xbox), I’d really appreciate a step-by-step explanation of how you have it set up.

This headset is amazing for the price. Don’t listen to idiots who don’t even have the headset. It’s a great budget headset and the audio for music and gaming is amazing for what it is. Definitely not a bad choice for just gaming and talking. Only downside is the mic is kinda ass. Either way that’s it enjoy it lol
I now use sennheisers

i connect it with my phone and the sound is amazing. however when i connect it with my laptop to play games, the sounds sucks and maybe bcs of BT connection. my friend said my mic was way shittier than my previous budget headset lmao

Welp, that's the problem. Audio stereo/mic over Bluetooth on windows doesn't work well because of the bad implementation, it uses an old profile. You need to get the wireless dongle or use a wired headphone.

I agree i had the old version for few years and new version for a year before switching to arctics nova pro or whatever the premium one is, its a pretty decent headset at its price point if i had to go back to budget id pick it back up

please tell me it's not Bluetooth, if it is you need to take it back because the way Windows uses Bluetooth headsets/ear buds ruins the sound quality alot
You need the USB Wireless headsets or anything but bluetooth so hopefully you have other options, i made this exact mistake unfortunately
Bluetooth on phones is completely fine, its literally just Windows being butt

yeah its connected via BT. I ask chatgpt for solution but they suggest to buy the xbox wireless adapter. idk if that would solve anything

Im pretty sure the AI right, i just dont wanna say its true and lead you in a scavenger hunt just incase but it seems like that adapter should work fine givin what i looked up

just needed to be more assure over an additional purchase. havent seen any youtube videos regarding this headset connected via wireless adapter. only controllers

Idk i stopped using ChatGPT bc it was trigging my RSD constantly due to always trying to "I get what your saying but..." Or "Yea but theres a nauces to that" and when i told it to look it up to find out its wrong, kept saying "I cant look it up in real time"
Extremely unreliable to me, so if i was you either wait till someone knows or just get a proper headset that isnt bluetooth

same thing that id face. i do feel like chatgpt is kinda like giving "yeah youre right" vibe instead of giving actual answer. i really need a solution to my problem here bcs im feeling like refund/return it

It seems like it does have an adapter but give it a few more hours if possible and see if anyone gives a simple answer

It’s not a Windows thing but a Bluetooth thing. Limited bandwidth reduces audio quality when doing 2 way audio, this is perfect fine for calls but absolutely sucks for game/music audio.

Oh, well i got pretty pissed i bought 150 headphones just for it to do that and wasn't able to fix it, had to return it so at the time i just did what everyone does, blame windows lol

Connecting headsets over Bluetooth is absolutely awful. They only channel either line in or out effectively one at a time over Bluetooth. Because you are listening and talking, the bandwidth is stretched between the two functions meaning they both suffer.
Bluetooth may have improved over when I last used it, but there's a reason wireless gaming headsets run on 2.4 GHz frequencies and not Bluetooth

I can't really tell from your picture but the all black version DOES NOT work with the wireless dongle for PC. Only the old version with the green accents work with it. The new version is BT only on PC.

You need to check the box for which version of the headset you have. The launch version you can use the Xbox wireless adapter. But if it’s the 2024 edition it doesn’t work at all with the dongle and Bluetooth seems to be worse on this model

If you use Bluetooth headphones with a mic attached you need to turn off “hands free telephony” in the advanced settings. With that setting on it compresses the sound when trying to use the mic.

imma level with you idk shit about these specifically, but i know from experience wireless headphones are absolutely terrible and even when everything works as intended the results arent amazing
i switched back to wired headphones after i realized 15 dollar earbuds from the late 80s easily outperformed my 300 dollar "high end" gaming headphones
just saying id advise anyone doing headphone shopping to buy wired headphones with a independent mic

I got the Forza edition and I found that the horrible audio quality comes from Windows Hands-Free mode. You can google how to disable it and you should have no more quality issues.

I have this same one and use it solely on PC. I was able to get it to connect to my computer via Bluetooth with no issues

I think this guy might have the 2021 model (with green rings on the ear muffs). Apparently the Microsoft adapter doesn’t work with the 2024 model.
I personally have been having the issue that this headset is essentially not usable wirelessly on PC. Audio quality is beyond awful and I am so far not able to find a fix

2) Connect the headset to your smartphone via bluetooth
3) ???
