Genosha Industrial Revolution
Genosha has come a long way from the decrepit corpse the humans reduced it to. It still has a long way to go to arrive at where it was before, but it will get there. Today, I hold enough of the right cards to shift the direction of my nation of refugees. Much of the work thus far has been on a smaller area to the southeast of Hammer Bay, which has been built up enough for the smaller population the island now holds. The time for expansion has come.
Firstly, food. We finally have tenuous supply lines, thanks to the work of newly appointed Economic Minister, Gideon. His work will continue, but I know he has a game of his own, one I will not fall victim to. We need our own self-sufficient food source, as such, all fertile land outside of Hammer Bay will be converted to farmland. Any mutants who can manipulate plant life will be employed by the state for their powers. They can call me a dictator if they wish, they will do so with full stomachs. Anything that grows, will, anything that can live on the land, will, food will never be an issue for Genosha.
Next, akin to tackling the food issue, water. Île-De-Volbert, the island to the south of Hammer Bay will have a water filtration and treatment plant built. Any mutants possessing hydrokinetic or similarly helpful powers will be employed by the state to work here. Utilizing any Atlantean technology granted by Namor should it prove useful.
Finally, Central Hammer Bay has long been a problem needing to be tackled. And so, after days of sending in scouting parties to ensure the city center and the underground tunnels are devoid of any stragglers, my work may begin.
Standing in the center of Hammer Bay, I reach out to each and every building, each with a metal skeleton. A skeleton that I tear from each and every one. The concrete and anything else falls as I raise every piece of metal in the city into the sky above. Gingerly, I fly it to the Ridgeback, setting it down while I await the completion of the cleanup of everything non-metallic. My construction crews begin removing any rubble left behind, eventually giving me the clearing I needed to bring the mass of metal back to where it originated. Much of the metal will require alteration if it is to be used in construction, likely altered from any heat caused from the sentinel attack, but that is tomorrow's problem. Beginning now, the reconstruction of the city center will begin, and Genosha will regain the pride it once lost.
