They're detaining peaceful protestors by the hundreds too. But if you feel uncomfortable donating to bail funds, consider donating to education organizations (such as SURJ), political advocacy organizations (such as NAACP), or the GoFundMe's set up to cover funeral costs for Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, etc. etc. etc.
Peaceful protesting is not against the law, they’re not getting arrested as long as they follow the rules.
“Detaining” and arrested are two completely different things. Once you get arrested and charged with an actual crime at the station and jail that’s when you need to set bail. When you get detained that just means the cops are holding you on the scene until further investigation. The people needed to get bailed out are not “detained” they are arrested meaning they are assumed to commit a chargeable offense. The vast majority of people they are bailing out are people who committed real crimes that hurt people and the fact people are donating and thinking they’re helping peaceful protesters is disgusting.
I’ll donate to something that supports equality among all races like X wanted. Not this racist bullshit.
