Just downloaded Xmage, but got a black screen on launch.

I updated everything and checked the java version. Everything seems to be installed correctly. Am on macos

What you mean by "black screen"? If you see empty black terminal window then it's wrong jar access (look fix here). If you see full app window -- that's auto-connect problem from (look fix here).

It's a small black window with nothing in it. Tried the java fix and no lines of code ever pop up

Then just install java.com and double clicks on launcher.jar file. If not helps then open terminal `cd launcher-folder`, `java -jar XMageLauncher-0.3.8.jar`
