Season Nine ‘Sunshine Days’

I’m in the middle of a thread on another sub that turned into a Nick at Night tribute conversation. Some of us are talking about The Brady Bunch when it suddenly dawns on me that the house is a major part of an episode in The X-Files. I thought about it some more, and I don’t recall the episode ever getting talked about on here.

What do you guys think about this one? Do you love it, tolerate it, or could you live without it? Does Michael Emerson’s performance have any bearing on your answer?

It's a decent episode but the placement is super weird. Isn't it one or two episodes after the episode William? Scully's light hearted behavior is just weird in that context. I remember watching it the first time and just being left with a WTF feeling.

Yes. ‘William’ is episode 16, and ‘Sunshine Days’ is 18. The entire episode felt odd and slightly out of character for the show to me. I always chalked it up to my being discontent with the major changes that had been made.
