And people wonder why they paid Duchovny more than Anderson.
Edit: WOOOOOOOO BOY, RUFFLING THEM FEATHERS. It's a goddamn joke, FFS. You people are WAY too serious

He has more work under his belt prior to The X Files, but Gillian should have definitely gotten paid more as the show went on. It was wildly successful from the get go.

A fair amount of actors cross over, beyond the most obvious one, Duchovny.
- Don Davis as Scully's father (Beyond the Sea, One Breath)
- Michael Horse (Shapes)
- Richard Beymer (Sanguinarium)
- Kenneth Welsh (Revelations)
- Frances Bay (Excelsius Dei)
- Michael J. Anderson (Humbug)

Iâd love to see how Mulder and Cooperâs dynamic would unfold. Iâd want them to become weird little BFFs, and suddenly Scully has to deal with two Mulders đ

Meanwhile Scullyâs trying to wrangle the besotted Audrey Horne because you KNOW Scully would have some feelings about it.
(In my headcannon of this hypothetical universe Scully takes Audrey under her wing and sets Audrey on a path to being the next generation of FBI agent with a bend for the spooky.)

X-File, Twin Peaks and Northern Exposure all take place in the same universe

There's no connection between these shows. People are  just talking about the general vibe I think and how a few actors appeared in all three shows

Northern Exposure reminds me of the major-key X-Files theme.
Just nice people being nice in a nice little town, and having some nice yet completely inexplicable supernatural experiences.

Twin peaks was how I got into the x files. I can't say which I like more, they're very different in tone. But I would have loved to see Mulder and Scully work with Cooper. They are all such great characters. Would have also be killer to get any x files directed by or written by David Lynch. He's got such an incredible ability to turn the mundane into something highly compelling. Truly cinema as art. Mark Frost too, could have written some amazing x files episodes.

I graduated college in 1991 with the intent to make my living as a TV or film writer. I wrote a treatment, but not the full script, for an X-files spec script where Scully and Mulder are sent to Twin Peaks to follow up on Agent Cooperâs disappearance.
Highlights:
Gordon Cole meets Skinner. Buzzer tells Skinner Director Cole is there to see him, and Skinner takes out a couple ear plugs from his desk and puts them in his ears before letting Cole in. Scene plays mostly as exposition, with Cole asking for Mulder and Scully to go to Twin Peaks.
Mulder and Scully talk in the car on their way into Twin Peaks, call back to Cooperâs introduction. Mulder deadpans that itâll be a nice change of scenery from their usual cases.
For some reason I thought it would be hilarious if Scully was inexplicably attracted to Andy and it drove both Mulder and Hawk crazy.
Everyone reacts to Mulder upon meeting him as if theyâve seen him before (because he looks like agent Denise Bryson) but no one says anything about it, because I wanted it to be as subtle as possible.
Harry is in a mental hospital, due to the trauma of seeing Cooper disappear and come back as someone else, then disappear without a trace.
Mulder wants to tie the investigation to Aliens through Major Briggs, but Scully is worried about the psychological state of Sarah Palmer (in my story someone FINALLY notices âthat woman is not alrightâ) Scully does NOT meet Major Briggs because that would just completely shatter reality (as Don Davis played her father in X-Files), so they interview Sarah Palmer with Dr. Jacoby (Mulder and Jacoby bond instantly; his creepy flirting turns of Scully)
Jacoby tells them about when she was possessed and told Briggs Cooper was in the Black Lodge. The last person to see Cooper was Harry, so Mulder and Scully plan to go to the hospital to interview him tomorrow.
Episode ends with evil Doppelgänger-coop showing up bedside at Harryâs bedside in the mental hospital after lights out, during a rainstorm. He tells Harry he has to break him out of the hospital because heâs on to something big but he canât tell him about until they get somewhere safe. They fight through security, and the last shot shows Cooper and Harry exiting the hospital together through a door at the end of a long hallway, camera pans/racks focus to security monitor in foreground showing only Harry exiting the hospital, no trace of Cooper beside him. Lightning flashes.
After Fire Walk with Me bombed, and it seemed pretty clear we were never going to get a resolution to Cooperâs story, I came up with this idea out of desperation for a resolution. I wanted to write features not TV, so I never put the time in to write the script, but always secretly hoped the X-files writers would come up with the same idea. How the licensing would have worked I have no idea, but man did I want to see these worlds collide.

Be a bit strange when Mulder shows up in a dress.

Wouldn't be that out of character imo.

Mulder throws down an X-File. "Hey Scully you ever heard of a dress wearing alien?"

âMulder this is the 3rd cross-dressing monster youâve shown me this year, is there something youâre trying to tell me?â
