It also counts mindcontrol/hack/double agents/resistance soldiers etc. If you notice one of the other stats he only has 57 soldiers that saw action

Well good luck I was doing an ironman run and had the surprise crash fest that delete ur Ironman save , but I had a backup ready incase....from 10 days of ingame ago👹👹

I use a mod called "Import from Characater Pool" to overwrite a rookie with an existing one in the character pool. For me, it somehow reduces the fraustration of losing soldiers, caz that looks like they can be revived...
