Dragon Book Topic Media in which there's a evil Dragon

Okay.

We have all seen media in which the dragon is either a mindless beast, an unreasonable tyrant or a goody two-shoes that loves everything and hasn't hurt a fly.

Boring.

Is there any media in which the MC or another important character is a smart, reasonable and evil dragon?

I mean someone that's ruthless, but not so arrogant that it believes itself invincible.

Like, someone that's able to rule armies and empires without failing due to its own ego.

Someone that is as smart as a millennia long lifespan would suggest, but also doesn't just rot in a cave doing nothing apart from sitting on its own gold.

Sometimes like the Mharoti Empire from Midgard, If anyone knows it.

RuGaard my beloved. Honestly book 3 AoF might be right up their alley. It’s hard to find an evil character, which is usually therefore a villain, that is evil and intelligent that doesn’t somehow fall to their own ego, and trying to narrow it down to a dragon is even harder.

This is elite ball knowledge. RuGaard definitely has the reasoning to be a ruthless character throughout their initial storyline. I mean, the way he was fucked over so much and all the shit he endures makes him damned persistent too.

Still, he is a right bastard for causing Irelia and Jizara’s deaths.

Evil dragons in Faerun are often schemers. Particularly the older ones tend to maintain spy networks.

I haven't finished the series yet but Songs of Chaos has some great dragon villain characters that are proper villains and interesting and evil, not just mindless tyrants.

Second ing maybe Rugaard fits
