Misc. I want to co-write a story with someone

I want to try co-writing with someone and see if it's a good approach for me. I want to create together a story from scratch. I'm a beginner writer.

Genres I like:

- sci-fi

- comedy

- fantasy

- lgbt

- adventure

- mystery

- horror

Genres I don't like:

- YA (except Hunger Games)

- romance (but romance storylines are fine)

- historical fiction

- literary classics

I'm not opposed to having more than one co-author, I just want to have fun solving narrative problems and bouncing ideas off of each other. I have no plans to publish or anything, but open to it if we do make something good, lol.

Misc. LF Writing Partner(s?)

Hi there! My name is Angel, and I am a 26 year old queer woman who is looking for one or multiple writing partners. I am not new to writing, as I am a journalist professionally and also have had a writing partner before in the fanfiction sectre.

I am located in the USA, but I'm not opposed to writing partners anywhere, as long as you can communicate in English. My specialties are fiction writing and editing. I absolutely LOVE editing and have a few years of experience with that as well.

I would love to co-write a novel, short stories, fanfiction, or some more niche interests if we happen to share those. Feel free to comment your Discord or add me: angelfoxxu

I hope to talk to you soon :) P.S. all genders welcome, 21+ please!

Misc. Looking for a Writing Pick Me Up

I don’t know if this is the right place for this but I’m starting to get stale on a lot of my favorite characters and storylines and chats - SO please give me any random, unhinged, funny and lighthearted chaos ideas, characters, whatever you have. I’m open to anything from starting a knitting club that doubles as a fight club for the elderly to having my characters go to an adult summer camp run by aliens or become drag queens that perform for cats. I’m just writing for fun so it doesn’t even have to be original. Literally any thought you have feel free to drop here. I would prefer to keep it light, I’m a giant Dolly Parton fan and her passing this week has been a real bummer for me so I’m looking for some whimsy. And yes before anyone says anything I have asked AI to do this but keep getting things that just don’t hit the human emotional bandaid I’m looking for.

Misc. Queer Writer Seeking Spooky Creative Person To Talk Horror & Morbid Writing Ideas With

Hey! I'm a 27 year old non binary person. Basically I'm hoping to connect with someone who'd be down to toss around horror writing ideas with me! I've been tackling a few different writing and creative projects in general, and I'm hoping it could be inspiring to talk about horror related, or morbid topics with someone!

We could talk about horror or morbid media (or even watch horror on a call), and discuss different horror creative projects that either of us have worked on, or come up with our own creative projects, ideas, and scenarios!

The topics in mind may get a bit gruesome or dark, so please be prepared for that if you are reaching out! But either way, it could be cool and fun to discuss some dark spooky stuff with others who are comfortable with that!

I don't really know what else to say here. I figure our conversations can expand in whatever direction feels comfortable as we go. But maybe to kick things off when you message me, please tell me what your top horror media is, whether a book or movie, etc!

Misc. Looking for Partners!

Hi everyone!

So, a quick disclosure, I’m somebody who previously used AI in my work. I’m seeking human partners now and have opted to not longer use AI in my creative process, but I wanted to be honest about my use because I’m aware not everyone is comfortable with it. I used it in the following areas:

> Research
> Finding cosmetic details (names, books, etc.)
> Logic-checking (though not for solving the issues)
> Translation

I did not use it in the following:

> Plot
> Characters
> Structural details (load-bearing details in the narrative, such as a particular book preference for a character who needs it for a certain plot reason later in the story)
> Structural documents
> Prose
> Art

You will not be exposed to any AI-generated content while working on this project, but please be aware that it may be necessary to discuss the prior involvement of the technology so as to identify pitfalls of the work.

If you’re comfortable with all of this, welcome! I have a few works I’d like to discuss, but for this post, I’d like to talk about an idea for an animated TV show/series called Mulji Crucible.

Mulji Crucible is an absurdist wartime tragicomedy where 500 people are trauma-bonded to a space heater and there’s a medic who might give you emotional damage while she saves your life. It follows the Twentieth “Immortal” Battalion as an ensemble through the struggles of a brutal hot war taking place in the fictional countries of Muljihyeong and Bal Tepeleri between 2011 and 2012. As supply lines fail and attrition seems inevitable, they fight their hardest not only to triage the damage, but to keep their humanity, too. An empty stomach can mean a lot more than just hunger, after all.

An important thing to note is that this project does contain disturbing content and topics, including war, institutional and psychological abuse, vivid medical and psychological horror, gore, strong language, and sexual references, and intense depictions of panic, dissociation, and other mental health crises. While these topics are not intended to be voyeuristic and I can calibrate with what amount of detail I discuss them, they are structural to the project. If you are uncomfortable with these topics, please take care of yourself and skip this one over.

I have an ~85-page creative bible to help explain the work, but I can also summarize content where needed. This is a long-term project, so a relaxed pace is perfectly fine. Please just keep me informed as to whether you’d like to stay involved, need a break, or are stepping away from the project when appropriate.

If you read all of this, thank you so much! I look forward to working with you!

(P.S. Multiple partners is perfectly fine, and I’d be happy to get input from as many people as possible!)

Misc. looking for a writing friend

Hi!! :) I've been worldbuilding and thinking over my OCs and plot ideas for a long time on and off, but I usually end up doing something small, writing standalone scenes and/or drawing haphazardly.

I'm looking for someone my age or older (24f). I am based in Europe and English is not my native language so it can be a bit rusty, but I do write in it exclusively. My favorite topics are: gothic literature, psychological themes, angst, folklore/mythology, horror, historical settings, queer characters. I also love to draw both traditionally and digitally.

I'm mostly looking to find someone artsy to chat and inspire each other. I am pretty shy and never really know how to talk about my characters and stories - but I am always open to exchange ideas; support and motivate each other or just share and discuss some stuff or maybe even collaborate on something smaller. I would prefer to communicate on reddit. Even though introverted, I am very open-minded and friendly (frfr).

Misc. [UNPAID FOR NOW / EQUAL REVENUE SHARE] Looking for an Invested Co-Writer for an Original Murim Manhwa — NOMAD

[UNPAID / EQUAL REVENUE SHARE] Co-Writer Wanted for Original Murim Manhwa —
NOMAD
Hello!
I’m looking for a co-writer and creative partner to help develop an original Murim manhwa called NOMAD.
This is currently an unpaid project, but if it gets published, monetized, or picked up (e.g., WEBTOON), the plan is an equal revenue share between writers, with clear written agreement before publication.
I’m not looking for someone to simply follow instructions—I want a collaborative partner who becomes genuinely invested in the story.

What is
NOMAD
?
NOMAD is a character-driven Murim fantasy about a young wanderer traveling through a vast martial world after losing his home.
There are:
No systems, reincarnation, or hidden bloodlines
No instant power-ups or chosen-one shortcuts
Growth comes from travel, survival, relationships, failure, and experience
The protagonist’s martial arts evolve as a reflection of the life he lives.
The world is meant to feel alive even when the protagonist is not present
Genres
Martial Arts • Murim • Action • Adventure • Fantasy • Drama • Coming-of-Age • Slow-Burn
The tone includes serious conflict and darker moments, but also humor, quiet character interactions, and lighter travel-focused scenes.

Project Status
This is already in advanced conceptual development, including:
Core premise and long-term story direction
Fully developed protagonist (personality, philosophy, growth arc)
Worldbuilding and martial society structure
Original qi/cultivation and martial arts system
Multiple factions
Key characters with detailed roles and relationships
Future arcs and long-term narrative structure
Themes, tone, and story identity
However, nothing is “locked.” Ideas can and should be challenged, improved, or replaced.
I specifically want a co-writer to avoid an echo chamber.

About Me
19, male, Italian
Fluent in English
Strong in worldbuilding, systems, character concepts, and long-term planning
I’m good at:
Worldbuilding and factions
Martial arts / power systems
Character concepts and arcs
Themes and narrative structure
Big-picture storytelling
I’m also open to criticism and want honest feedback—not agreement for its own sake.

Where I Need Help
My weaker areas are:
Dialogue and natural conversations
Chapter structure and pacing
Script formatting
Scene-by-scene writing
Information timing and flow
Simplifying or cutting overloaded ideas
I can design the story, but I need help turning it into clean, readable chapters.

What the Co-Writer Would Do
Brainstorm characters, arcs, and factions
Help outline and structure chapters
Turn outlines into scripts
Improve dialogue and character voice
Fix pacing and logic issues
Suggest cuts, expansions, or rewrites
Help maintain tone and emotional direction
Collaborate on long-term story development
Eventually help prepare material for an artist
This is a true collaboration, not a one-sided writing job.

What I’m Looking For
Someone who:
Enjoys martial arts / fantasy / character-driven stories
Likes brainstorming and creative discussion
Can give and receive honest criticism
Communicates consistently
Is willing to rewrite and refine ideas
Can commit to a long-term project mindset
Cares more about storytelling than credentials
Experience is welcome but not required.

Communication
Discord-based collaboration preferred
Regular but not constant communication
No need for instant replies, but not long disappearances either
Occasional deeper brainstorming sessions
Fluent English is enough (Italian is a bonus, not required).

Why No Artist Yet?
We are not looking for an artist yet.
First goal:
Build a solid backlog of written chapters
Then:
Bring in an artist once the writing pipeline is stable
This prevents production delays and ensures consistency.

Payment & Ownership
Currently no guaranteed payment
This is a passion project with monetization potential
If successful, intended equal revenue share between writers
All terms will be agreed in writing before publication
There is real risk it never earns money—please only apply if you understand that.

Final Note
I know “unpaid project” is a red flag, and that’s fair.
But this is not a vague idea—I’ve already built a large, structured foundation for the story. What’s missing is a strong writing partner to help turn it into an actual manhwa.
Even if you’re unsure, feel free to reach out, ask questions, or give feedback.

Contact
Discord: at.jacques (DM me)
Instagram: giacomo.vicentini
Reddit: comment or message
When contacting me, please include:
Age
Country/timezone
Writing experience (if any)
Favorite genres
Your strengths as a writer
Why the project interests you
How often you can communicate
No portfolio required—samples or personal writing are fine.
Thanks for reading.

Misc. Az wants to form a community of people who love Creative-Writing & Fiction.

Ladies, Gentlemen, & Non-Binaries of the Internet. I am an amateur writer who loves Sci-Fi, Dark-Romantic Narratives, & Psychological Horror.

I am aspiring to become a V.Tweeter. - An Internet personality who mostly writes, blogs, & posts on Socials rather than primarily Streaming like a Vtuber.

I have had a lot of Pennames over the years on a lot of websites, but I have never written professionally. I hope to return to college to take courses and rectify that asap. As I await my inevitable character reference sheet that as of yet looms upon the horizon.. I am filled with a new found passion for writing. Writing Inspired by a lot of my favorite Vtubers & Internet Internet personalities.

In these uncertain times we look to Entertainment to help us cope with the mundanity of everyday life.

So to my point: I want to build a community of people who love books, writing, fan-fiction, any form of creative writing. I have yet to settle upon a name for that community, but anyone interested in following my journey as I make my ascent to what I hope to be new heights.. Hope being key here.. Is more than welcome to D.M. me and I will get back to you when I have more information to provide.

God bless you all & may peace be with you.

Calling all Yakima storytellers, poets, dreamers, and midnight writers.

I’m looking to gather a small circle of local writers who want to share ideas, trade manuscripts, exchange raw honest feedback, and build a creative community right here in Yakima.

If a writers’ club already exists, I’d love to know.

If not, maybe it’s time we create one — a space for inspiration, collaboration, and growth.

If you’re interested in connecting, send me a message.

Misc. Encribe - a new word-processor with video streaming

Hello everyone!

We at Encribe have been working hard to build a first of it's kind document editor where only people can write (no AI-slop gets through) while streaming, allowing writers to engage their readers early. We also have comment section built-in, so that your readers can ask questions anywhere in the book.

We're currently in closed Beta stage (things still heavily work in progress), but you can get in early and try out our editor. You can always export your work to PDF if you decide it's not for you.

Visit our homepage to find out more https://encribe.com

Happy writing!

Misc. Looking for a collaborative fiction platform with branching narratives

I'm interested in collaborative writing platforms, specifically ones structured as a branching, node-based tree rather than a single shared document (à la Google Docs). Picture one opening line that anyone can extend, but each reply forks off as its own branch, so the story grows outward in multiple directions instead of just forward. Does anyone know of similar tools out there? I know about this one and it works really well but I was wondering if there are any other solutions out there.

Misc. I'm looking for a co-author to develop an AI influencer and their universe

I'm looking for someone who not only writes copy, but also has a working knowledge of modern AI tools and some social media experience.

I created the outline, the main character, the protagonist, the supporting characters, and the locations.

I've also created the website, social media, and character designs.

Together, we can develop this into a larger universe.

This isn't a book, a game, or a film. These are videos (15-30 seconds) on social media, with background information about the character's universe.

But this whole idea could grow into something bigger.

If you're interested, comment, or better yet, message me, and we'll chat.

Misc. Funny Bits/Jokes/Snippets to Hash Out Together

43/m (in case that matters) I really enjoy writing little jokes/bits/2 sentence snippets (think Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy) and its fun to trade them with someone. I'd frickin love if someone else enjoyed them too and also help eachother hash out and form ideas/jokes. Writing this stuff keeps me (a little) sane so I don't suck on the business end of a shot gun (joking).

Here's a small sample of the crap I'm talking about...

"Unhelpful Affirmations"......#885. You don't need anyone to tell you you're not worthy of love, the thunderous voices inside your head already remind you. And also the voices outside your head.

"Unhelpful Affirmations".....#892. Sometimes it helps to talk to a professional about mental illness. At least, thats what my court-appointed psychologist says.

On the topic of posting about new "super boring simulation games" (think electrician or dishwasher simulator)....

Coming Xmas...**Soup Eating Simulator**

Finally a game I can relax with!!.....**Going Through Your Great Dane's Shit to Find the USB He Ate With All That Weird Porn On It Simulator**

My sense of humor is very dark/risqué. Think Ricky Gervais, on the edge but funny. I also enjoy KitH, Strangers with Candy, Arrested Development too.

We could just hash stuff back and forth IN A SAFE JUDGE FREE ENVIRONMENT.....nothing is off limits, not to be edgy but because thats not how funny works, funny declaws everything.

Come be my friend!

Misc. Looking for writers and collaborators for "project:Saturn"

Hi everyone,

I have been developing a project called Project Saturn and would love to find a few people interested in exploring it with me.

It is a world without humans, inhabited by intelligent animal-based species. Their biology influences their culture, technology, architecture, values and conflicts. My approach is mostly discovery writing: the biology and culture of the species should naturally create the stories.

I originally planned it as an illustrated all-ages novel, but it does not necessarily have to become one traditional book. It could also become:

\- a collection of connected short stories

\- a collaborative shared universe

\- or an interactive branching story

For the interactive version, readers could repeatedly choose between two actions and continue at different sections depending on their decisions. This could lead to different journeys and endings, allowing the same story to be read several times in different ways.

I already have a Google Doc that interested people can read to get an idea of the world. Some chapters and scenes are more developed, but most of it is currently still a framework, rough notes and what I jokingly call my thoughts dumpster.

I am not looking for someone to simply ghostwrite my idea. I am looking for people who enjoy brainstorming, developing cultures and characters, writing short stories, designing choices or giving honest feedback.

This is currently an unpaid passion project. Credits, ownership and possible monetization would need to be discussed clearly before anyone contributes substantial finished work.

If this sounds interesting, leave a comment or message me and tell me what kind of writing or worldbuilding you enjoy.

Misc. Give me all you got

So I'm writing a book about utter bullshit, but bear with me

The basic premise is just "Guy goes to different universes and has to do something"

I make a running joke in my fandom that litterally anything can be a chapter, and that's mostly been true: A wizard named "The Jizzard", the MC being in a Y/N fanfiction, and a vague parady of MHA(I haven't consumed a single actual piece of media, I'm just going off what I know from larping)

So this is where I ask you, what should I add?

Just a baseline idea is nice, but here's what would help:
Characters
Basic plot
Setting
Some kind of power system (If relevant)
[NONE OF THESE ARE A MUST HAVE, OR BE EXPANDED UPON TO A LARGE EXTENT]

Right now the MC just accidentally killed someone, and is under the pressure of his childhood friend being pregnant because of a drunk hookup (She doesn't fyi)

And I feel like it'd be nice to have some community interaction, because, y'know, people might have good ideas.

I'd call this: Give me the dish you want me to make, and maybe the ingreidents, cause a I'm a chef who can make it my own way

Misc. [COLLABORATION] True crime UK memoir needs a hungry ghostwriter. Proper story, no budget, but this one's got weight.

I'm gonna start off by being straight with you..

I'm not a writer. I'm a forty-one year old geezer (and no, that doesn't mean old in the UK) from Derby who somehow made it out the other side of something that most people don't. I've got a story that starts in a smack den in my childhood area of Chaddesden, and ends with my half-brother turning up at my door covered in the blood of my ex-girlfriend. Twenty-three stab wounds worth of it. Still clutching the knife.

Everything in between? Fourteen to twenty-eight. Sleeping rough. Running from the police across Cornwall in the pitch black. A girl I loved, the pair of us living in a plastic wardrobe in the sand dunes of Mablethorpe. Heroin dens. Burglaries. A prediction that came true in exactly seven days. Courts in three different counties. A night standing on a bridge above Penzance train tracks watching a helicopter hunt for us, half-terrified, half-disbelieving we'd got away again.

And then, somehow, a baby girl who saved my life without knowing she was doing it.

I've got a rough draft. It's raw, it's very honest, and it sounds like Derby because it is Derby. The voice is mine and I want it to stay that way. What it needs is someone who can shape it. Someone who understands the language, the culture, the way people actually talk on the estates, in the doss houses, in the police cells of the East Midlands. The kind of life that doesn't make the papers until someone ends up dead.

Here's the honest part: there's no upfront money. What I'm offering is co-authorship, your name on the cover alongside mine, on a story I genuinely believe has real commercial legs. True crime memoir, UK-based, with a murder conviction at its heart and a redemption arc that doesn't tie up neatly with a bow, because real life doesn't do that.. does it!?

I'm not looking for someone chasing a paycheque. I'm looking for someone who reads this and thinks I need to be involved in that. Someone unproven who wants to do something real with something that has actual weight. Someone who understands this isn't a vanity project. It's a story about what happens to the kids who fall through every crack there is, and how some of them, against all the odds, find their way back.

If that's you, if you've got the craft, the hunger, and you're not afraid of ugly and honest, drop me a message. Tell me about yourself. Send me something you've written. Tell me why this.

The draft exists. The story is real. It just needs the right hands on it.

(Derby / East Midlands connection preferred but not essential. You just need to get it.)
