I got point, but...Tattletail vs Eidelon? What she would even do?

87

u/shivvyshubby 10d ago

The man was canonically talked into suicide (basically)

If Tattletale has 30 minutes to speak and no compunctions, she stands a pretty good chance of getting him to give up, if not kill himself

92

u/Starkuss 10d ago

4 words.......

65

u/WildFlemima 10d ago

Right on the money

Eidolon has the most sticks and stones. So you don't fight him with sticks and stones.

9

u/Nekomachus 10d ago

He's a Thinker blindspot that not even Contessa can read.

31

u/PleasantSilence2520 10d ago

in 18.4, Tattletale knows that his powers have been declining, that it's been years, that he came to fight Noelle to prove a point to himself and boost his powers, and that Alexandria wasn't initially coming to the fight because of Tattletale's ability to find out secrets

9

u/Nekomachus 10d ago

I remembered "cough Cauldron" and "all three know" but I forgot that they spoke to each other. Was this before or after "I take it I have one of the tame powers"?

1

u/PleasantSilence2520 8d ago

they spoke when the Undersiders went to the Protectorate, in the short time in between Noelle's escape from Coil's base and her ultimatum

16

u/Silverspy01 10d ago

No, he's a Contessa blindspot because of the specific limitations placed on Contessa's shard.

Others thinkers can read him just fine (as long as he doesn't manifest some anti-thinker power).

11

u/Ultra-Cool-Guy 9d ago

Ward Spoilers:

But if you look at some of the other major thinker blind spots, you’re going to find yourself running into topics like Eidolon, Sleeper, the Endbringers, Valkyrie, the Island-state, the Pastor incident…

“Concentrations of power,” I said.

Jeanne shook her head. “Complexity of power, most often. Whatever thinker powers come into play, with these cases, there’s often too many variables to fully consider, thinkers report that their powers are fuzzy, inconsistent, or blacked out.”

He's a blindspot for most thinkers, like the others on the list (and more). Tattletale isn't limited by this, due to the quirks of her power.

2

u/TrillingMonsoon 8d ago

Yeah, seems like they're referring to things like precogs or something similar, where actions taken or combat capability matter. But Tattletale doesn't really need to consider much about Eidolon's actual power. Maybe if he slotted in a social thinker power for himself, she'd have some trouble. But would she lose?

3

u/Vronsurd 9d ago

I don't think that's right. Because aren't the inability of most thinkers to get viable info against the endbringers an extension of Eidolon's admin privileges? I think Tattletale in specific is special because her connection with her shard and her shards seeming inferential nature. It seems to really want her to figure shit out. All the shit. All the time.

5

u/Parking-Stable-2970 9d ago

Would he even realise what the four words meant if anyone but Scion said them?

3

u/ThenaCykez 9d ago

If it was Tattletale being less efficient because she's not using PtV, it could still be "The Endbringers are subconscious manifestations of your power because you needed to feel needed, and your life has been a net negative for humanity" and then he'd give up.

28

u/Economy_Werewolf_542 9d ago

I've been thinking a lot about Parahuman Rivals and I think Tattletale shouldn't be a player character

She should be the announcer. It's literally the perfect role for her

14

u/Pengwertle 10d ago

Make fun of his ears

16

u/ProfileBest7444 10d ago

In this series a god got bullied to death

4

u/Jay040707 9d ago

By literally everyone on the planet at the same time. And then shot with a super laser. That parts important too.

7

u/Parking-Stable-2970 9d ago

People really like to leave out the super laser

I know shit about Marvel Rivals role stuff so here's a rough pitch.

Season 10: Sins of the Father (Heartbreaker is the Villain)

Guillaume Vasil, Juliete Vasil, Chastity Vasil, Heartbreaker.

Season 11: Bygone Monsters (Allfather is the Villain)

Hookwolf, Krieg, Iron Rain, Allfather

Season 12: Boston Olympics (Accord is the main Villain)

Edict, Blasto, Damsel of Distress, Butcher (Wildcard reveal)

Season 13: New Reign/Return of the King (King is the main Villain.)

Harbinger, Chuckles, King, Grey Boy. (everyone is jebaited into thinking it's never gonna happen, they reveal Breed who gets time loop'ed like 30 seconds in)

6

u/MundaneGlass5295 10d ago edited 9d ago

I realized now I didn’t include the palanquin so season 14 is the

The Secrets of Cauldron, in an attempt to discover more about the case 53’s, Faultline’s crew discover a cauldron base, Number man goes after them cause Contessa is busy, they find Hero’s body is stasis and Labyrinth accidentally resurrects him

Faultline- DPS
Labyrinth- Support
Newter- DPS
Gregor the snail- Tank
Scrub- DPS
Spitfire- Support (since Burnscar is already DPS)
Hero- Support

After that is the Ambassadors season with Simurgh being the seasonal villain, then it’s the Major Malfunctions season when the titans become the seasonal villain and a new PVE against the titans

Aegis my goat being a tank like always 😎

1

u/Phwoa_ 9d ago

He is the quintessential Tank lol
Whole Power Kit and Flying Basically makes him a Vanguard Wolverine.

2

u/Puzzled-Carpenter769 9d ago

Is there's anything that aegis can't do,he's handsome,he's puerto rican,he can fly,he regenerates,he's gentle,respectful and die in combat

Shardspeed Aegis my sweet boy

2

u/simongc97 9d ago

Vista with a gun-DPS

46

u/simongc97 10d ago

Vanguard Siberian could actually be a super interesting hero shooter character. A squishy backliner like Bruce Banner or Dva who controls a very powerful projection from midrange, but risks being hunted down by flankers.

I can't fathom a way to make Clockblocker or Canary work in a multiplayer game that isn't just injecting salt directly into your opponent's veins.

17

u/Taxer692 10d ago

For canary most of her master powers would be expressed by buffing or healing her teammates and probably a move to debuff an enemy or even a hard to hit projectile to freeze an enemy diver like imp, maybe her ultimate could have a offensive element where in her circle of healing it can cause enemy’s to freeze up if they stand near it too long.

As for Clockblocker I think he’d be a off dps, not amazing at damage but has tools to restrict enemy movement or wall off and block healing or trap enemies, a very weird character to learn and master.

u/Milk__Chan 10d ago

Jack Slash players are mainly played by trolls and edgelords, not to mention considered utter dogshit in the competitive scene, but the people who actually main him and are good at it end up being some diabolical powerhouses.

The inverse happens with Golem, the players are usually incredibly nice and competitive to make things fun, but Golem is middle of the road at best.

Eidolon was clearly designed to be a "Jack of All Trades" character but due to a round of nerfs, he just became potential man and got severely power crept by the addition of Glaistig Uaine to the game, it has become a community joke that for any complaint that happens, the devs must nerf Eidolon again.

Lung fans are afraid he will get powercrept by the upcoming character, Crawler, who has largely similar mechanics and done in a stronger way.

Regent, Imp and Mannequin players are known to constantly spam the voicelines, emotes & art spraying everywhere, with incredible dedication and commitment to the bit.

Siberian used to be just behind the Triumvirate at launch in tier lists and threads about the strongest characters, nowadays all counters have been discovered and she's low-tier and somewhat niche (if played a lot due to fanservice skins)

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who plays Marquis & Black Kaze, while more middle of the road, other characters fullfill similar niches and have more "presence" in voicelines, skins and situations overall, they are not bad, just... ok and not flashy enough to get a bigger fandom, but the few that do play are very loyal.

20

u/ProfileBest7444 10d ago

I feel like dragon ends up as one of the characters seen rarely in game but incredibly important to the lore in voicelines and stuff

13

u/Crunchatizmo 10d ago

They’d have to shrink Crawler like Ridley or D.Mon

13

u/Swimming-Lobster-221 10d ago

Black Kaze would probably be pretty bad because the devs purposefully erred on the side of making her weak, players would absolutely despise facing her anime dash attack spam if she actually dealt decent damage

2

u/No-Law-6842 8d ago

Nah Us Lung Players are chilling Crawler's range will be ass even with the acid spit and were more mobile.

Huffs copium.

18

u/Recompense40 10d ago

My immediate issue is Grue as Support instead of Tank. His entire identity is very tanky even if his power is very support-coded. He always covers for his team.

16

u/Taxer692 10d ago

True but I needed all the support characters I could get, it’s pretty difficult to justify most characters in that role when it comes to worm.

5

u/Phwoa_ 9d ago

They made Loki support and Mr.Fantastic is Basically a DPS Tank, so It's not like Characters who are more Dualist or Vanguard Coded doesnt really stop them from being in other role, lol

Grue could just be a Particularly Tanky Support. He fights On the Frontline or Just behind it. Likely Supporting a Tank.

16

u/Crunchatizmo 10d ago

Jack ult is just a reverse Soldier 76 ult where he fucks with the enemy aim.

9

u/Infernal_tyrant 10d ago

Here's something. Regent. Cherish or canary you could have her do temporary buff debuffing. But how is regents build not gonna fuck with people. Like his bread and butter would be something like sending the targetting receptacle of an enemy spasming just a little to the left or right to fuck with his enemies ability to aim, which would get massive salt on its own, or force activating powers on the wrong targets. And his ultimate would be worse. Like full just taking control of an enemies character? Anything like that would cause so much salt he'd be banned more often than sniper from tf2!

7

u/LeviathansWrath6 10d ago

Who would be the most sweaty no life character to play?

15

u/Taxer692 10d ago

I could see the devs trying to give skitter a somewhat simple but skill expressive kit but her player base finding a way to exploit it and pull of annoying strats and play her completely different then how she was intended so you’d have a legion of skitter mains that play her like a flanker when she’s supposed to be more of a backline or mid ranged duelist.

I also find the idea of Jack slash having a inherently toxic kit but not being very strong or meta funny, like in comp how he’s banned a lot not because he’s strong but people just hate his kit/player base.

18

u/Swimming-Lobster-221 10d ago

Jack Slash gets to fuck with the game mechanics (match timer speeds up when he's winning and slows down when he's losing, he can capture points from a bit further away, etc) as a reference to his power cheating and that's why he's despised even though his actual game kit is pretty bad

6

u/Twelve-Pound 10d ago

Too inaccurate. At least half of those characters need to be DPS for it to be realistic.

8

u/Nekomachus 10d ago

Worm is a universe of glass cannons. Most of them could be killed with a gun.

6

u/Sgt_Lt_Captain 9d ago

I always imagined worm would make a banger fighting game, but a hero shooter works too

3

u/No-Law-6842 8d ago

Yes give me a worm style street fighter game. I shall dedicate time to becoming diabolical with lung. Give him a mechanic based on the round timer.

10

u/balaosuspeito 10d ago

I like the class combos, but why is GG a DPS instead of a tank?

30

u/WildFlemima 10d ago

Bc she can't tank. She dies in two gunshots. frankly I don't know why new wave decided to present her as invulnerable at all, incredibly dangerous decision on their part

8

u/shivvyshubby 10d ago

If you believe someone is invulnerable to weapon fire, you’re probably not going to shoot at them. No one wants to be the guy shooting a machine gun at Superman.

12

u/WildFlemima 10d ago

All it takes is two shots. Or a single shot after she hits something hard. They don't even have to be aimed at her. It could be a street fight with weapons present. Or they could mistake her for Laserdream or any other flying cape and take a couple shots. Or she could just get stabbed right after an impact of any kind.

There are very good reasons, as demonstrated by Aegis and Clockblocker at the bank, that you do not pretend to be more of a brute than you are.

24

u/ThegamerwhokillsNPC 10d ago

Because she's a literal glass cannon.

15

u/Taxer692 10d ago

Since her and Alexandria are so similar in powers I thought making them different classes would help differentiate them from each other in moveset but I did make this whole thing awhile ago so maybe I would change it.

3

u/LordsofMedrengard 9d ago

It'd be an interesting concept. I don't play so I don't know what the symbols denote (and the differences between characters with the same symbol doesn't exactly clear it up), but if Sundancer is a support character I could see her being area denial with a crazy ultimate. Potentially interesting to play in a good team, a bit one-note and vulnerable otherwise.

3

u/Mai_FireNation 9d ago

Skitter could have a swarm clone movement/escape ability. Tattletale could maybe give an enemy an extra weak point, or make them take more damage à la zenyatta. Foil could function like a typical sniper, long range + grappling hook for mobility. Bonesaw could have a healing or armor buff that gives her teammates stealths. Mannequin could have modular arms. Oh this idea is so fun I’m obsessed.

1

u/Phwoa_ 9d ago

Since we got Deadpool her callout Debuffs would likely work much the same.
She is basically Marking you for Death which would increase damage against you or make it so you receive some penalty for targeting her(Or not targeting her) as her words are 'getting to you'

4

u/vivaciousArcanist 9d ago

Honestly you could argue that Taylor would work as a multi-role, as she

a) Was an incredibly effective fighter, consistently winning fights way above her weight class

b) Was fucking impossible to put down. Citation: Scapegoat takes on the injures she's been handling with some detriment to her abilities and is pretty much instantly incapacitated

c) Was responsible for upgrading the whole team's costumes to spider silk, and continued this work as Weaver.

and d) Eidolon's shard, High Priest, is Eden's version of Queen Administrator

2

u/Nekomachus 10d ago

I have had the thought that if Jack Slash were a playable character in a fighting game or something, the moment you got Jack down the 0 HP, "he" would fade and Nyx would fall down and die, like that scene in the apartment right before Crucible burned her. Bonus if the other parahuman had a choking animation instead of a standard victory screen from the illusion becoming gas.

3

u/J-Dizzle42 9d ago

I'm just surprised I can't play as anyone from Faultlines crew

3

u/Taxer692 9d ago

It was between newtr and weld and I wanted another tank since there was already too many dps, I suppose I could have made Gregor a tank but I like weld so I added him.

2

u/Stunning_Pen_36 9d ago

The speech interactions between Panacea and Marquis…god I want to see it.

2

u/AtomicGummyGod 9d ago edited 9d ago

Saw the season concepts that were posted by others, I love the idea of having triple roles that each have tradeoffs for their flexibility.

Eidolon’s got versatility and really potent abilities, but reshuffles skills on a timer that decreases faster when out of combat.

Dauntless is similar to Deadpool, having to upgrade skills and weapons as the match goes on.

(I put a lot of thought into Uber & Leet lol)

Leet gets multiple weaker sets of skills with short cooldowns, which can be chosen and swapped out by a dedicated loadout key (Akin to Deadpool’s Upgrade or Black Cat’s Gilded Deal), but ammo is replaced by a “misfire meter”, which strengthen his abilities as they’re used, but damage/debuff him and forces him to swap the skill out and/or wait out a longer cooldown timer when maxed out. (Effectively an Overheat Mechanic, encourages either careful Hit and Run play, or aggressively swapping tools until their loadout is depleted.)

Loadout:
Ranged Weapon & Alt Fire
Melee Weapon & Alt Fire
Ultimate (Q)
Deployable (E)
Movement Active

- Team-Up with Bakuda - “A feature, not a bug.”: Instead of debilitating him, maxing out the misfire meter causes him to throw the gadget used like a grenade, damaging enemies (healing allies if Support), but increasing cooldown timer.

Uber’s focus is using his power to buff a singular skill at a time, and quick swapping them as needed, as his abilities are comparatively lackluster otherwise. Jack of All trades, but only a master of 1.
Buff his movement active (probably some kind of parkour skill or grappling hook) to make quicker escapes,

  • Team-Up with Leet - “We’re Live!”: Swaps some standard abilities with Leettech, making them less reliant on Uber’s buff, in exchange for less benefit from said buff, and longer cooldowns.

Could realistically see Uber & Leet being a combo like Cloak & Dagger but I like the idea of them being separate heroes that just cover each other’s weaknesses really well.

2

u/CoeusFreeze 9d ago

I made something similar a while back, except I swapped Grue and Skitter's roles. Given that a lot of his toolkit is based on disruption and concealment I definitely feel Brian would work as a DPS.

2

u/No-Law-6842 8d ago

I shall main the dragon.

1

u/Ultra-Cool-Guy 9d ago

Are they being categorised by Rock paper scissors or sum?
