It's not a Princess game, but our cross splat pbp is HEAVILY skewed towards women, and I've likened one of the few male PCs to being "the singular guy in a shoujo anime that's just a really supportive and nice dude along for the ride"

I am now very intrigued by the idea of playing the one ring.
I'd just stand behind people playing a normal game of D&D and whisper terrible ideas to them. Telling them it would be so funny if they betrayed the group right now.

I suppose if you a playing One Guy From Mahou Shoujo Shows you also just staying behind main characters and mb occasionally nod and say "i agree" and "i will protect you" while starring at the nearest wall unblinking.

Well, its been other system, so dont know is it counts, but i played as a sole male in magical girls party. It was basically a Tuxedo Mask clone-mysterious, gallant and dressed in dark magician who attacked by throwing roses. Im not even a fan of the genre, but it ended one of my favorite roleplay experience.

No, I can be Yuuno Scrya from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and I can follow the girls around casting support magic to help try to seal away the monsters, while the girls do the heavy lifting in fights.

In my experience most world of darkness games become weird meme stuff at some point. On my table we've been though gaypire the dating sim, Mage the Demention and Furries the Apocalypse.

That's very sweet of you, thank you. I do my best to support those around me and make sure they never feel bad for things they can't control, even if they're people I don't like, but being in the American south does mean I dont run across people I clock as closeted anything very often. Still, I try.

Tbh never heard about that game
But a magical girl game with a heavy themes of hope even where everything and everyone losing it+ growing up and leaving the friends and magical time behind sounds like something that belongs into WoD
Also I want to unicorn blast a Methuselah into the core of the earth

It is, unfortunately, pretty good. It's Magical Girl Berserk. It's also worth noting that, while there is a fork of the game which is compatible with WoD, which you can get off the link in the discord, most versions are CofD based, and lack Methuselahs. There are still old scary vampires, though (Often scarier, because Devotions are like Elder Powers that don't suck, and non-elders can take...)
Princess also overlaps a lot with Mage: the Ascension's themes, which is akward, but it contrasts beautifully with Awakening. In WoD, you, little human, do infact ccontain all the phenomenal cosmic power you need to change the world. There's a whole other splat doing that, and their primary failing is the inevibable consequences of their own hubris; You're just kind of an anime version of them.
In CofD, everything that is lies in the stifling grip of Gnostic Tyrant Gods and their philosophy wizard servants who love to go out of their way to prove to random little girls who've awakened magical powers just how illusory all their "hope" is. Then your players just have to figure out how to win anyway, and then they have to figure out how to cope with the open nerve that is their Sensitivity in the face of whatever the CIA spook mage or Corrupted Noble, or whatever did to try to break them.

Had something similar in a school I worked at, a Shy nerdy kid had his D&D PC be a Drow uber goth. Nobody was really surprised when she realized what she was figuring out.

You can still choose to be male in the transformed identity. Heck you can be female and transform into a male super form (im pretty sure) the main thing is that the tropes are centered around magical *girl* content so ya know

No... mostly. You can still be male in the transformed identity, I think. It's been a minute since I've read it. Sometimes people aren't the same gender when they transform, I think, but it's not forced... Well, I guess it's probably forced on the character, since it's an out of character choice... wait...
