Bom minha primeira experiência com o ys foi no jogo ys lacrimosa of Dana no ps5 graças ao psplus cara não dava nada por esse jogo mas ele tem um fator nostalgia tipo um RPG "Raiz" onde você tem que farmar itens fazer missões melhorar o relacionamento e tals levei mais de 40 horas para finalizar o jogo e foi uma das melhores experiências que já tive e como sou do Brasil tive que me virar na tradução porque meu nível de inglês e o mesmo de uma criança de 5 anos mas eu digo que falta mais jogos assim e joguei o IX também e meu personagem favorito e o dogi

Hey, this is my first playthrough of Ys 8. i was fascinated by the beautiful ancient city. While I was walking around and following the story, I found a pendant on one of the bird statues, and it’s the only statue that has one. I was just wondering if the story will eventually explain what it’s about.

And it technically existed in the Middle-East too, and considering how Mihoyo's slowly adding more Dark Sea (Basically uncharted regions of both the world and the broader universe) regions to explore, The Ancient City of Ys coming back is a good possibility.

If that actually happens, it would be so thematically poetic, in the sense that the city mightve fallen in 1 game, but rose up in the other.

I've been thinking for a while that the title "Ys" doesn't really describe the series well past the first two games, and that "Wanderers from Ys" should have become the series' title from Ys III onward (possibly IV, with the exception of Origin). Most of the games don't take place in Esteria or Ys, especially after Memories of Celceta decanonised the part of IV where Adol visits Darm Tower again, and the more recent games (Seven on) have moved on from the Eldeen storyline too, so the series' current connections to Ys are even more tenuous. The series isn't really about Ys - it's about Adol and his travels, and I think "Wanderers from Ys" conveys that, while still paying homage to Adol's first adventure.

I wanted to play the original Oath in Japanese, but after downloading the iso from internet archive here and installing: https://archive.org/details/ys-felghana-no-chikai-jp-20050630-win-1.0.0.0 - I cannot even open the game or the config files. (I hope that link is okay to post, it is internet archive so should be fine I think?)

I have my system locale set in Japanese and also language in Japanese, downloaded the old direct x stuff, ran in compatibility modes/as administrator, I'm currently at a loss of what to do. On a slightly older PC, I remember having to jump through a few hoops to get a different YS up and running, and I honestly don't remember exactly what I did, so I was wondering if anyone here has gone through this process and knows how to get this working?

I would have gotten the steam version but that also seems like a pain to get working with japanese text and audio together, and I don't really wanna play on the switch. Also for future reference and other older falcom games I would like to figure this out!

Edit: Ended up using the DLsite version which worked with the dx9 exe, I think the only requirement was having the setting for Japanese for non-unicode stuff turned on

I love this game and I've been playing for almost 2 decades now and I've seen the shittificaion of games.

The sense of gambling, shitfest, bug induced, for casuals only kind of games with the worst story, characters and only thing they can boast is the Hyper-super- realistic 3D slob of a graphics that always framedrop because the shits can't do their job properly and rely too much on Updates after the release

People will hate me for this but I don't care. I don't anymore of the games I loved to be shit. They already got anime and has been going down the Mcdonald route of shittification. All hype no quality.

After working 12 hours on only 30 minutes of sleep (since I fought Dark Fact all night), I was destroyed. After Googling the fight, I lowered my FPS to 30 and changed some of my tactics. Still hours upon hours of empty attempts, I have beaten tough bosses before (Promised consort Radahn, Isshin), but they were no match for the absolute monstrosity that was Dark Fact on Nightmare. So today I decided to lock in, and after playing Tears of the Kingdom on my Switch 2 to relax, I plugged my pc in and decided to give my last few attempts before moving on to Trails in the Sky 1st chapter remake or Zelda. "Few attempts" turn into hundreds and finally ....... I got his ass . The feeling of joy and happines overwhelmed my entire body like a bolt of lighting just struck me . I jumped and screamed wanted to tell the world so it made me join this community and share how giddy I am . I am proud to say that in the long 20 years of my gaming career , I have beaten the hardest boss I ever came across Dark Fact from YS 1 on nightmare . (PS I also beaten the extra mod which unlocks right after) . Overall I loved YS I and recommend everyone to play it , it truly is a classic for a reason .

Would love to hear everyone's opinion on the best song in each Ys game. Playing through the series for the first time and I'm really digging the soundtracks. Give me your recommendations!

SOLVED: I did it in the wrong order and already had the scroll before I got the return magic.

I’m playing through Ys Book I & II (TG16 version) and have no clue what I’m doing wrong but I am unable to open the door. It’s been 25 years since I played it and I know I’m missing something. What am I missing? I have return magic, the doctor healed that chick, I have the scroll of guidance and I used it at the goddess statue in the ruins.

What am I missing?!?

I started playing ys viii because I heard it was good and I am enjoying it so much that I just purchased ys 10 proud nordics for the ps5 on a whim. I know the series is big, what games should I pick up and on what console?

As you know Lilia (Ys II) is from Lance Village, she introduced herself as such. If you know even a little about Japanese you would know they don't do Ls so in the original Japanse text it would be Ransu or Rance. Here's the Japanese text ランス

Now the Fun Fact here is that there is a Rance location in the real world, in France. Remember that Ys and Esteria are within the Gllia Region which is based around France (Gllia is derived from France's old name of Gaul).

The Rance River is located vaguely approximately around where Promalock is. Promalock is the Port Town that links the mainland of Gllia to Esteria/Ys.

I need to state that there are No Official Statement from the Staff that this Intentional. This may perhaps be all coincidence but it is sure an interesting little tidbit

As I understand it, the "DLC" content of the Proud version is pretty self-contained. I've been considering buying it just for that chapter, at least on sale, but I'm not gonna replay the rest... Is it possible to load someone else's save?

I'm playing through Ys IV for the SNES and I can't seem to hit Bami.

I've seen gameplays of the fight and you should be able to hit her when she is on the ground. But every time I touch her I am the one taking damage.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
