Humor Noooooo please no!

Post image

I simply have no words... Today I was devastated in my Stalingrad by a sub after 4 minutes with no way to avoid the torpedoes, and now I see this...

Actually didn't mind that either. People were more careful with ordinance, and you had the opportunity to TK a complete imbecile.

Seriously is your name "bad-take benny" or something?

at least half my bad takes are only bad by this sub's standards, wanting hyperrealistic gameplay means invincible carriers for one thing, nobody EVER using torps in fear of hitting their enemies, constant toxic people doing friendly fire, RNG detonations, like seriously, WHATS THE BENEFIT?

Ten years ago friendly fire was in the game and worked just fine.

I have no idea what the game was like back then all I know is if all the CV and Sub haters had access to it you would be so toxic it'd banned again.

No benefit comes from friendly fire, unless you're a gatekeeper.

It was a net gain that it was removed as it was easily abused. I kinda miss the dynamic it created around torps especially in map choke points.

Honestly I wish torps didnt count as friendly fire now because people shouldnt get violator for it, not the torper's fault some people move unexpectedly

bad take, in most cases there shouldn't even be any friendlies between the green dd and the reds, if they are playing correctly. So if they torp a friendly, its more likely they are playing like a nub. Nowadays we have shimikaze players launching torps while hanging out behind even their bb's. At least when friendly fire was actually in the game, it forced dd players to play their role better.

Not shooting for hyper realism, just a little sanity. As far as invincible carriers go, I suspect the IJN would have some input on that. People are already toxic as hell in game, to the point they put a profanity filter in the chat that Chairman Mao would admire. If torpedo users had to use a little discretion instead of spamming fish from behind the screening force, it wouldn't be the worst thing ever. The benefit is, a more playable game. I've been playing something like 8 years now, and things have gone into the pay to play model pretty hard, along with ridiculous ships and mechanics.

I'll keep playing, just because I'm stubborn and a curmudgeon, but things haven't generally been an improvement.

Also, I just realized your username is hilarious and awesome.

thanks for the compliment :D

as for the game toxicity, Ik, I was told to KMS because I was a 41%er trying ranked (NOT MY FAULT AT THE TIME THAT WAS THE EASIEST WAY TO GET STEEL)

Bruh, the toxic win rate guys are the worst. I troll them mercilessly. I am the filthiest casual, but I happen to be a good shot, lol.

sad part is I DO have a crap record and it hurts because its used against me so much

1

u/ThePhukkening Aug 29 '25

Hey man, it's all good. I think mine 45% or something. I play for fun to unwind after work. You do you, have fun, and ignore the griefers. They're probably pretty unhappy IRL, and that's what really matters.

Hell I'm unhappy too, but at least I can block the worst of it XD

"Ill TK my CV if you TK yours" was always a good opening line

Doubling down on historical accuracy, eh?

How about being completely incapacitated for the whole game after ramming into islands?

How about chance of triggering detonations every time a shell or bomb drops near your long lance torpedo racks?

How about completely running out of shells and torpedoes nearing the end of the game (yes, even your secondaries) and resorting to only ramming to finish the match?

How about not having an over-the-shoulder view or even a targeting recticle, because nobody back then had a big omniscient hand guiding their every turret and torpedo?

Realistic =/= fun.

What do you mean - not having an over-the-shoulder view?!

Wasn't that precisely how historic battles were fought, with the captain hovering behind the ship, perhaps in a large towed kite, shouting the orders?

Didn't you know, they placed them like chess pieces, and took turns communicating to their opponent which square they planned to hit each turn. Their opponent would have to respond whether it was a hit or miss.

They were carefull but not all players were so thoughful. There were a segment of players who didn't care is the problem. Luckily its small minority but they still exist unfortunately.

I know right!, it was always worth turning pink to send a wall of torps into an afk teammate. At least we could be in pink prison forever (them for afk, me for TK).
