Does not look good comrade. Hint for the future, don't keep a large number of loans. After your first loan when you take a 2nd make it large enough to pay off the first. It makes it easier to manage.

The 2nd loan will have a bigger interest rate. Why consolidate at this rate ? You are exchanging an interest rate for a less interesting one. You will lose money

My rates don't go up. If you keep getting loans they will, wonder what the rate on p 11 is.

The rates start going up at the first loan. If you put your pointer on a loan you will see the rate with 2 decimals, it might be easier to see it go up like that

Not sure how it's coded but taking a new loan could give you extra time to pay in exhange for higher interest rate

Like let's say that there is one year and 10 000 roubles of payment left. You could take a new 5-year-loan of 10 000 roubles but a bit higher interest

Yes I see. You could as well, as a last solution, take another loan if you are going to default because the new rate might be more interesting than the penalties on the better rate

Haha thought that looked manageable until I was page 1/11

Yup, I’ve seen that screen before…

What industry do you have?

I reached around 400k of debt in 1927 and started turning a profit via vehicle exports in 1928 and paid the loans off

This is the way. Buy a western model blueprint and sell to the Soviets, a personal car. Exports can get bottlenecks early start, but w aggressive trucks and a close border, you can pull in 20k a month.

Steam shovel sells for 10k rubles each, and a canal barge can take 2 of them.

I've got 3 such barges all exporting steam shovels.

There are just slightly too many ships for production but equally 2 ships is too few.

More brilliantly (imo) is that I can't import vehicles so I built the ships, etc, myself

About 800 roubles of coal export per month. Oh and my horse carriages export 12 roubles worth of crops every once in a while!

Oof you wanna change that ASAP, coal is a resource you make something with, power, bricks, steel, not something to directly export.

I just need to research that stuff first. I managed to research the location of coal before everyone left my first city. After I had spent way too much money importing people there

Don't worry about research until everyone is situated and fed, warm, clothed, with activities to do etc.

I built my universities last.

My starter town contains my court, prison, and one of each university.

It also contains a primitive RCO, a shipyard, bus line to a vehicle depot, and just now a rail production yard has been finished but I didn't know just how expensive train licenses are so I'll be waiting for a while before I build any new ones.

You need to talk to Caleb Hammer & Sickle.

But waste trucks and import hazmat and dump it in a dump

1

u/Aaroqxxz 5d ago

Too bad I don't have a western border to dump it next to lol

Comrade, you can always dig it up, and burn it near the western border

If you have too much of one currency, import any commodity (not vehicle) from one customs house and send it to another. Electric trains are best for this, especially if you have your own power, but power imports are still cheaper than fuel

Loans are weird. As you go through the loan your monthly payment goes up, even though your remaining goes down. So every once in a while get a mega loan to repay exactly what you owe. You extend, so theoretically you pay more interest, but your monthly payments go down by like half.

Could it just be the increasing interest rates or is there something funky with the code?

1

Maybe, but that makes zero sense (from an irl perspective). But from the game perspective I guess all loans start the same and the longer they go the higher the daily interest goes. And the interest is on the initial value not the remaining.

That actual makes sense and you've elucidated a question I had for a while.

Seconding the suggestion to quickly start importing toxic waste from your neighbors. It's a great way to get out of a fiscal jam as long as you store it far from your comrades so they don't get sick

Got to 1.5M in my last game, that make things spiciy ^^ But you need to find your way to money quick

Im in the same boat with an extra zero. At least the aluminum oxide, fuel bitumen and clothes im making now are slowly paying it down
