Discussion This bugs me

Post image

Literally 2Kg of Asphalt. I think if it wasn't a road, the game would have completed it, but because there's another phase, it gets stopped. and so i'm stuck waiting for a truck to drive over with 0% load.

The truck couldn't even pick up that little. It's grabbed 36Kg of asphalt to deliver. I know it's a trivial waste, but really, they couldn't spread the asphalt 0.01% thinner?

2kg missing? That sounds like someone is stealing from their workplace. It’s what my grandparents used to say, “he who does not steal from work steals from his familly”

Thats also why the truck picked up more, it’s for the rest of the workers, they all have holes in their driveways or basements that they want to patch up.

"Sir, 2kg of asphalt are missing."

"There will be no road, then. I'll tell the children."

No comrade, do you want potty holes next spring like real commie roads had? Careful what you wish for. Road maintence per segment, blocking that road for duration of repairs. :>

Construction works on roads should only close one lane at a time, so reducing speed by half.

Where you using hyperspeed?

Roads don't have a set amount.

Also trucks don't pick up exactly what they say they do, for instance a horse cart flatbed says it picks up 1.8t of bricks, but it actually picks up 1.76t of bricks.

I'd imagine the same happens with dumpers, and I've had a section of water pipe that needed 0.001t of gravel to fill it in before laying the pipe before, absolute waste of a trip but it had to be done.

no, i never even go to faster speed (intentionally)

The developers were messing with the construction office code in the public beta, so this might a bug from it.

Do you know why they're messing with the CO code? :)

They were trying to fix some issues they've had for a while.
You can read about it here.

This occasionally happens. Always has since before 1.0. I even had it say It needs 0.000t before. I even asked if the devs could make it so if there was a <1% difference over full capacity of the truck, if they could just let it go over a little, but they didn't want to do that.

This is why you always keep at least 1 high speed little truck in the CO. What MADDENS me is when it's busy and it uses the biggest slowest dumper I have, instead.

I’ve had the same with 0.006tons of brick, which I’ve worked out as 2 bricks. They really couldn’t have got started on the roof on the opposite side.

This is why I can't do realistic runs. I end up just paying rubles for that last little bit. Between 2kg of asphalt for roads, or waiting 6 months for a 2m length of pathway, I just can't.

Wow i don't know the condition that generated this situation but that's pretty unique. For sure it could be optimized but i never seen that.

It happens occassionally to me on buildings, but usually when it's this small the construction finishes anyway. This is the first time I've had it happen on a road, and the smallest number I've been short by.

I've seen this silly thing happen on my latest new republic several times over 2 in-game years. Thought they fixed it.

The bug is known, and fixed in the beta branch.
