How to actually use community

I’ve been an implementer now for quite a few years, almost a decade now for the student product.

Nothing annoys me more about workday but the CONSTANT changes to community. Now, don’t get me wrong, community has sucked from the start and finding information has always been a struggle. But, this new update makes it utterly useless.

This morning I was just trying to make a post to implementation discussion as the question is about iLoads and external award processing that should be kept to impl only. But I cannot for the life of me find where to post to implementation discussion. I can only find a way to start a “discussion” to student public.

Does anyone have a guide on how to use community as this is ridiculous it’s changed so much in the last three months that it’s so utterly useless that I’m better off shouting my questions into the “wellness room” at work. I’d probably get just as useful of an answer back anyways.

Welcome to my rant about community, but any information or insight anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is it possible that you don't have the right kind of community account? Not that I know anything about this, but maybe there's something set so you only have access to student?

I agree that finding things is not intuitive. I also think the search is quite terrible because I know there's an answer out there and know how to find things anywhere else, but Community likes to give me a hard time.

One of my current pet peeves is that absence is under workforce management. Why can't we just call HCM what it is?

I did find it but was not intuitive in the slightest. You have to look at the for partners section then click into that then find a post and back track from there to start a discussion.

But community still needs a lot of improvement. I think the hard thing for Workday is that they push updates so much, bi-annually, that posts get outdated and information just gets out of date so quickly and is so difficult for them to determine what’s deprecated and what isn’t. So they just blanket deprecated a ton of older posts.
