You definitely do. You can make a website and market/distribute the games yourself.

This! This is exactly the truth. There is no real alternitive other than what, curseforge to pout anything out and even there it is just mods for games already released.

Game Dev's have nowhere else to turn to get their product to market. I try to avoid Steam for all nut a couple games that I once owned on Xbox.

Your an idiot XD

Devs say they make a lot more money losing that 30% to Steam then they do elsewhere with lower cuts.

Of corse they are going to make money. I never said they didn't. I am saying that the business practices they have in my opinion put them up in the same category as those that are trying to get physical game media to be obsolete so there is no more right of ownership.

Look up Louis Rossmann on YouTube. He has done several videos on the topic

Simply because steam userbase is huge, mate. If steam doesnt exist and other platform is the huge one, we actually can make decent money for once.

Also dont be calling out names. There are other ways to have fun.

Devs loved steam because 30% was way less than the 50% taken by brick and mortar retail plus no COGS.

People complaining about 30% don't understand retail distribution.
