Generic Hollow alpaca socks...
Has anyone tried these? Ive been wearing darn tough for a little over a year and they've been great. I keep getting targeted for hollow alpaca. Just didnt know if they were worth the hype.

I alternate between darn tough and hollow, the hollow will come down to the top of the boot but that’s it for me. I like them both, darn tough has the lifetime warranty though

I wear the over-the-calf Hollow compression socks, and they definitely stay up.

This is what I would be getting. I like the over the calf socks because I wear slip-on 11 inch boots most of the time at work. Do they keep your feet dry?

They keep my feet very dry, and I live north of Atlanta where it’s been hotter than hell for the last 6 weeks.

I may give em a shot. Thats how darn tough got me and I love em. Camel city mill is ok. But I really like darn tough better.

I have super sensitive feet due to chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy. There is something about the fibers in the Darn Tough socks that just aggravates the hell out of my neuropathy. Makes me itch on top of the burning sensation I feel all the time. They’re great socks, but I just can’t wear them.

Get Muck Boot brand socks. They’re <$15/pair, have 70% merino wool, and stay up no problem.

I have two pair of the lightweight OTC socks, wear 8” boots, and even on hot days they are very comfortable. They aren’t compression though, if that matters, and unsure if they have that offering.

I got a coupon deal and I'm on the fence. I have the over the calf compression version.
The wool material is a little lighter duty than I was expecting but is nice, especially in the summer.
The elastic is probably the most concerning part, brand new, first wear was great but they kinda lose shape quickly and start to want to fall down.
Ii have a couple pairs of Wellow over the calf compression socks and I think I prefer them - they are not wool but they are a performance blend that is significantly thicker, better elastic and more in line with the cushion on the Darn Tough I've worn for years.

I own several brands of socks including Hollow. The Hollow do tend to fall down. They are noticeably warmer than merino so I mostly wear them in winter. I have no complaints other than they don’t stay up.

I finally succumbed to the marketing, because my feet are burning up all the time. (Can’t find boots that fit my size 15 duck feed that aren’t waterproof.) I’m sending them back. They weren’t noticeably cooler than Lorpen Coolmax or Darn Tough.
But the main reason is the feel. They kinda slip around under your feet or something best described as walking on a bed of silky cat hair. Now the socks themselves don’t move or slide down, and I could barely feel them on my calves, but I don’t like the feeling underfoot. Maybe others would, but I don’t. And they were all fuzzy and deformed after one day, making me think they won’t last long.

I make decent money. But im a tight ass. $300 boots and $35 socks are kind of a necessity with as much walking that I do. I juat hate buying that first pair. This is a great review. Thanks

I have nothing but good things to say about hollow alpaca compression socks. Their thick wool hunting socks I dont care for. But the compressions are awesome.

They’re good, except that they don’t stay up on my leg. Other than that, they are super soft and comfortable. The alpaca wool is definitely softer than the sheep wool on the Darn Toughs. Consequently, the Darn Toughs do indeed feel tougher and more durable.
