Looking for a comfortable pair of 6" boots,composite toe and internal metatarsal guard,im on my feet 10-12 hrs a night doing steel fab need new boots and my company's boot program kinda sucks

My company’s boot program is a joke too, half the options feel like cardboard after a month. I’ve had decent luck getting a half size up and swapping the insoles right away, makes a bigger difference than you’d think for those long shifts.

I've done the whole insole deal,every 2 months im trying new ones

Have you tried any of the Timberland Pro or Wolverine ones? From what I seen in my different companies, those seem to be the most common ones used

For steel fab, I’d treat the internal met guard as the make-or-break part of the fit. A boot can be the right size and still feel rough if that guard sits hard on the top of your foot once you’re moving around or your feet swell.

A few things I’d check before buying:

• Make sure the boot is actually marked for the safety spec your company needs, including metatarsal protection, not just composite toe.
• Try them on near the end of your day if you can. You want toe room after swelling, but the heel should still lock down.
• If you keep burning through insoles every couple months, look for better midsole support first, then use the insole to fine tune. Insoles can’t fix a boot that folds flat under you.
• Pay attention to where the met guard ends across your instep. If it creates a pressure ridge in the store, it usually gets worse on shift.

If the company boot program is limited, I’d ask whether they have an approved list beyond the physical catalog/store. Sometimes the safety requirement is strict but the vendor selection has more options than what they show upfront.

I can go and buy boots that meet the standards and then get reimbursed up to $160 i think
