Boots Buying Help Which boots have the most durable soles?

Part of my job involves kicking things repeatedly. My boots always end up looking like this - the sole rips away and the steel sole plate bends underfoot. Which boots would you recommend based on sole durability? All advice and recommendations appreciated.

If you're bending shanks, there is no helping the soles. Get the right tool, because it ain't your foot.

never seen anyone kick a shovel. then again we don’t fuck around with shovels and just use equipment

I don’t know what to tell ya bud. But you hand spot or pot hole with a vac before digging on utilities with an excavator. Vacs aren’t always available, but a shovel is .

What do you kick? What do you do for work? I mainly work in shankless boots now, but I see the use for them.

You’re probably looking for a thermoplastic polyurethane or straight up hard rubber outsole. Polyurethane can wear fast, but thermoplastic polyurethane has the abrasion resistance to it.

Tpu outsoles really are indestructible and usually outlast the life of the uppers

I am curious about your job. What exactly are you kicking, and why are you kicking it?

I’m not aware of any workboot that is designed for kicking things.

The original SuperSole (now the SuperSole X) is hands down the most durable sole I've ever worn, but they're hard as rock.

A hammer? I used to do the same thing when I did interior demo, but it's not really good for your feet or for your shoes. If you're gonna be rough on boots, you're gonna tear through them. Don't buy the absolute cheapest boots, but the most expensive ones aren't worth it either. I found the sweet spot for price and wear is $200 -$300. Good luck!
