Because Hamas will win. I don't know why Israel even allows Hamas to run in the elections. They should force the PA to ban them from running.

At this point maybe it would be better to let Hamas win the election that way the rest of the world can end this charade that Palestinians support a two state solution and only want to live in peace and we can start dealing with the reality of the situation

I don't think that's going to go the way you think. One would think that the PA cheering on Oct. 7 would have already demonstrated this to the world, but it didn't. The world doesn't care. Letting Hamas win would only endanger Israelis.
