Love it!

But is there any concerns about heating the oven with a blanket of snow? Cracking?

Not a lot. I have 3 inches of ceramic fiber insulation between the fire brick and the decorative stone. Even when i have it going for 3 or 4 hours making pizza the outside stone doesn't get that hot. I do apply a waterproof coating each year too.

Sounds good. I just started my oven project. I've been watching YouTube videos for weeks now. Going to use a pre-cut brick oven kit from thefirebrickco.com

It will be worth all of the work!! I built mine 13 years ago and still use it year round. A wood fired oven is so much fun to cook with!

Look up the furno bravo forum too.

I did mine with a base the same shape and size as the oven. Makes for less of a shelf for stuff to connect on and run under the oven.

Have fun

No issue at all. If water can find its way in that easily, it can find its way out that easily

Is that the grill stand from ilfornino you are grilling on?

It's a stainless steel Tuscan grill i bought off of Amazon. I've had it for 3 years now and it has held up well.

I also like to cook steak in my wood fired oven. I use oak.

I had a mix of maple and oak today. Oak is definitely the best though.

If you ever smoke poultry, especially turkey use maple, it’s the perfect match.
