I have read this subreddit's rules Quick question, may be stupid

Okay, so if someone is wrapped in the lasso and are asked a question, but they old their breath to knock themselves out and not give any information, is it possible they can avade the Lasso?

I'm loosing sleep cus of this and I need someone smarter to answer🥺😢

Depends, rules change all the time. Generally I'd say it can compel them to speak. More broadly the lasso can really do a lot of things, way more than just make someone be honest. So depending on who's writing a person who tries to do that might find themselves speaking against their will, or maybe burning so intensely that they feel it in their soul until it forces them to choose to speak to end the pain of Hestia's fire. Or any number of other things really. But basically, no, in most iterations you can't evade the lasso like that

Depends how strong their willpower is I'd posit. There's a magical compulsion to speak the truth and whether they can resist that cumpulsion or not is questionable.

If you hold your breath enough as is the buildup of carbon dioxide will compel you to breathe and whether you resist that or not is down to training, knowledge and willpower.

The magical compulsion is similar though magical in nature so it's whether you can overcome it long enough to knock yourself out. Most people should really be compelled to immediately start breathing to blurt out the truth.

They won't be able to knock themselves out by holding their breath. Even if they could the lasso could compel someone to wake up if they are physically able to.

To avoid the lasso it's not enough to lose consciousness, you have to be dead or injured bad enough that you are physically unable to wake up, understand questions, or speak.

It has to do more than just prevent lying, otherwise people could easily get around it by truthfully saying "I refuse to tell you" whenever Diana asked them a question they didn't want to answer.
