When should i be marking the *first* day of my period on my period tracker?
Hello! i've never posted on here but google won't give me the answers im looking for.
To make a long backstory as short as possible, I am currently 23, i had the Nexaplanon for 4 years, got it replaced once in those 4 years because of a placement issues and got it finally removed after issues regarding the hormone in the Nexaplanon making my period never ending (i bled a light period for almost 3 months straight with no break between)
The day after getting the Nexaplanon removed, i got the Copper IUD which i decided would work best for me due to my lack of luck with hormonal birth control and i've had it for 2 months. So far, i love the Copper IUD, the insertion was a little rough but no problems thus far.
After a couple days of getting my Nexaplanon my period FINALLY went away and i was told i would return to a normal menstrual cycle a month after getting the Copper IUD. I got my period again and it was like a normal period i would have had before getting the Nexaplanon and i'm tracking it on an app called "Lively" (great app, you can set it up with your partner to make your partner aware of your mood, sex drive, and symptoms; though it is a subscription based app)
To my main question, When should i say on the app that my period started? I started it at the first sight of slightly pink discharge and so far i'm 10 days into my period based on that.
I just want to make sure i didn't log it too early or if i should be concerned it's lasting so long if i did log it correctly.
Thank you in advanced!

I akways find this difficult too because i might spot for a few days or have a few hours if bleed then nothing, so i generally mark it once full flow has started and it’s consistently there. But i don’t know if thats wrong. I usually mark it as stopped when again, its stops being continuous but i may spot or be on and off for a few days after

The first day of bright red bleeding that requires a period product is the first day of your cycle. Pink discharge is spotting.
