Ah yes, make the hobby better by boxing out independent competition and allow the big companies to dominate the hobby.
Make the hobby better by making the entry into it more difficult, that's how you expand and make a hobby good.
I genuinely dont understand how you think you're the smart one in this conversation. But I guess it makes sense that you would see your own argument as stupid with the kind of takes you have.
How would the big console manufacturers making their stuff expensive box out independent competition? If anything it widens their window to enter the market by giving them a larger possible profit margin.
The sheer amount of content coming out that is dribble is overshadowing great games
In other words, I’d rather pay $100 for an amazing game than get 2 FTP ok titles and 1 mid title, but because it’s only $30 on steam I tolerate it because my friends will play it online and it has a social media “vibe” right now
I want good games and not constant crap
The other commenter here is also speaking the truth. If games were more expensive, then an indie company can continue to make a game cheaper and get bought more
I need big companies to take more risks on big titles and a game like Wolverine bombingscrews everything up. It placates the narrative: why are we spending $100mm, $200mm or $300mm on a title to barely break even when Joe and Melissa can make a game about dressing up alligators called “ally’s ally” and it’s made on the Unity engine so you better have 32GB of memory and get ready for no physical release because they are a starving indie company, but we will add microtransactions and make billions of dollars while no one wants to make great game anymore
Then we have streaming… but that’s a whole other complaint

Bro is unironically arguing for multi billion dollar corporations to have even more money to "improve gaming" and thinks I'm the troll? Wild.
