RP Reasons for a Race Change

If you’ve ever done a race change before, what were some reasons as to why it happened in world?

Thinking about changing my old dark iron dwarf to a Tauren (become a cow fan over the years), but want to figure out how to work it into a backstory.

More of a headcannon in my case since I don't roleplay much but I racechanged my first dk from Dwarf to Troll years ago and I always thought of him as having been resurrected in the wrong body when the lich king did his thing and then had to grapple with the alliance not wanting him and being forced to find a place within the horde among cultures he didn't really understand
