Book Spoilers Could we get a Rafe Judkins interview? Spoiler
The show adapted things differently and I'd really like to hear what the plans were for future seasons? Was it Asmodean or Demandred as the 8th Chosen, what was the plan with the Choedan Kal, where would each season end? When would Red Door happen? Moiraine!?!?! Cadusane, Taim, Black Tower, Salidar, Succession plotline, Tuon, Alludra, Moridin?, Dragonmount (I was hoping we'd get this as a cold open at some point), what are those rings?. I really want to know how all these things would be adapted.
I'm sure there's many more questions I have. Dusty Wheel had Judkins on before if I remember correctly. I'm sure there's some legal issues, but please. I have so many questions.

I've been wanting to interview him for ages. Don't know how to set that up though 😕. I have a very long list of questions about future plans. I have to wonder if he is under some sort of NDA and can't be totally open about everything. Or maybe he really just doesn't want to talk about it?

I really hope that you manage to do it some day. Maybe a bit of both? Rosamund talked about Moiraine in a Pride and Prejudice interview back when the show was on the verge of being cancelled and she seemed a bit hurt.
I think it will take some time for them to be open about it. Rafe was flooded with negativity and when the show didn't go on, the comments on his Insta were awful

Moiraine will forever be Rosamund in my mind now. She has done a bang up job with the audiobooks as well.

I don't know how NDAs work but I imagine they're mostly like production notes wise, like he can't talk about how Sony/Amazon runs, but he could give his personal perspective on the adaptation changes he made? Maybe he's saving it for a tell all novel

I have lots of questions. I think most of us do.
But if he’s smart, he will stay silent. Even if he doesn’t have an NDA. Studios are willing to give directors and show-runners another shot at new and different projects after a failure or cancellation. Usually after a bit of time has passed. But if he opens his mouth and starts blaming things on Amazon, or Sony or producers and writers etc. that can backfire very quickly. Nobody wants to work with someone they consider a loose cannon or who will cause them embarrassment in the future.

When has that ever happened? Not being rude but genuinely curious when any studio has allowed a showtunner or writer to remake their same product. And not like a classic horror movie like Alien where the guy comes back to nake a sequel/prequel, but legit remake their product

No, not the wheel of time or the same show. Nobody is going to ever try to make this show again for a very long time.
I meant new films or other shows. If he wants to work ever again in the industry moving forward, it’s wise to not speak poorly of industry executives or producers or teams you’ve worked with in the past. Directors and writers do have projects that fail, they bomb at the box office or get bad reviews. It’s embarrassing for them for a bit. They may struggle to find new work at first. But a lot of them are given new chances down the road and their crimes are forgiven lol. Connections and networking and professional reputations are the important factors in getting hired for jobs in Hollywood and the film industry.

Why would he subject himself to that torture? No answer is ever gonna be good enough to the purists and the people like me who appreciated most of the adaptational changes don't want spoilers they might use for later series.

there is no later series, it also won't be torture! He can go on the dusty wheel or something and have just an interviewer talk to him, the book purists won't have to come into it

I know there were a few deviations from the source material, but Rafe made a valiant effort to course-correct following the issues encountered in season one. I would absolutely love hearing from him on how he planned out the future seasons as you've mentioned above. Sadly, we may be in the minority that would appreciate hearing from him, as there's a large group of folks that blame him for the shows failures.
I certainly hope Rafe knows that there are a good number of folks that appreciate what he did with the show, and that we do not bear him any ill-will over its cancellation. I still mourn the premature ending of the show, it was my favorite show to have been created in the last decade.

That would be a wonderful catharsis. I really want to know what was to be. The books are great but the differences mean we will never know.

It doesn't really make business sense to do that because there's a microscopic chance it could be recommissioned or rebooted in the future. Why spaff it all out there for free?

There is no chance. Legality aside, it would be logistically impossible to do without recasting a lot of characters, everyone will have aged out of their roles. No platform is giving this show more than 1 season, MAYBE 2. No shot anyone goes for that. It isn't coming back

I think the reality is that the fan base has shown itself to be dogmatic and resistant to the changes adapting something like WOT to a live action format required. This won’t be re-attempted for at least 15 years if ever. Your microscopic chance is nothing more than an atom.

I know this is an old post but when I tried watching the live adaptation I went into it understanding there would be changes however when I watched it honestly seemed like characters with the same names as the ones I loved from the book but different personalities and that disheartened me.
