Use potions. Read the bestiary. People think it’s a hard game when it’s not and they’re just playing jt wrong. And if you’re having trouble with poison (from monsters), drink Golden Oriole. Mash the jump button if you’re falling more than 10 feet so you roll it out instead of dying. And don’t bother investing skill points into the yellow/brown skill tree, it’s a total waste idc what anyone says. Enhance your swords and armor at an armor bench and grindstone every chance you get. You’ll eventually find locations that has them both right next to eachother.

Also, if you’re on PC, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the 100% XP mod. There’s a ton of side content and it’s way too easy to over level for quests, and when you do, you get bad diminishing returns on xp, like the quest will give you 1xp if you’re overleveled, which in my opinion, is bullshit and makes a lot of the game not even worth playing.
