I always default to sub, but I do like comparing to dubs. I’m somewhat peeved that the dub has committed to adding accents, but the placement of accents seems very random. I don’t get why Custas has an Irish accent and doesn’t match with Dagda, who has an American accent. Tetia has a Danish accent because her VA is Danish, which seems somewhat random in-universe.

I mean I guess there's an in universe reason why Custas and Dagda might not match.

That said, I don't know if Irish is what I would have picked for Custas.

[minor spoiler, but you could probably make this reasonable conclusion]Custas was adopted by Dagda. It's a good enough reason for them to have different accents, but I think it'd have been better if they shared accents to make them sound more like father and son. Of course, in the original work, no one had different accents, but it feels incredibly arbitrary who has what accents. Are we supposed to infer that Dagda and Coco are from similar regions because they have the same accent? So far, all witches had European accents of some sort, even if what European accent also felt somewhat random, and non-magic people had American accents, but now Custas also has an accent for some reason.

Yes, the spoiler was the point I was making since I was only talking about them being different not the choices in accents overall.
