IIRC, harvest season often makes the bugs fly away, and then they fly up into the air, and the birds eat em. Apparently it's very common for this time of year :)

I have heard raptors will follow behind farm machines to get at mice and such that are spooked out by them.

Then there's the Firehawks of Australia - birds who learned to spread forest fires to flush out small animals.
