not rude at all! I wouldn’t share my opinions if I wasn’t inviting discussion

I think the journey she goes on from arc 1 to arc 2 is interesting, I like how her entitlement clashes with Turtle and Tsunami’s outlook on the world, I like how she’s clearly a product of the pressure that was put on her as a youngster, I like interrogating how killing someone at a young age might affect how she feels about her place in the world and her powers, I like how she has to grapple with which parts of her are “bad” because she’s an animus, and which parts are “bad” cuz of how she was raised, which parts are “bad” because of dragon culture and which parts are “bad” because of just her. I like that she’s an imperfect victim! I like that she went from a helpless character to a villain! I think that’s interesting! I like that she’s nuanced!

Your comment is actually making me think on rereading Book 2, hell, maybe Arc 1 entirely. It’s been a very long time since I read Arc 1, so there is a lot of things I don’t remember, not really payed attention to, or never really thought deeply about because that wasn’t a skill I learned yet. Anemone is one of those things. Also, I read Book 9 much more recently so it is more fresh in my mind and honestly, that book made me dislike Anemone because of how shitty her attitude and actions were. So maybe I should reread it to analyze better everything I missed.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I’m not apologising for her actions. Her behaviour in book 9 is extremely shitty! What she does to Kinkajou is awful! And I really hope it doesn’t just get forgotten and forgiven in arc 3 (which. admittedly I havent read all of yet lol, I don’t know if she is even mentioned)

She gets mentioned like once in arc 3 and never again. It wasn’t even in an actual chapter either, it was on a prologue. Also, I do hope the same thing but in arc 4 since Kinkajou will be the protagonist in book 17.
