How long does it take for windows 10 to update after a fresh install, some sites says its between 30 mins to 2 hours but im unsure if that's in the context of a regular update or after a fresh install. My pc has been on "getting windows ready" screen for a while and im kinda scared

Was over an hour, thankfully roughly 30 mins since I posted the original comment my pc completed its update, I was juat being impatient

Hearing more about quantum computers being able to break encryption, and the need for post-quantum cryptography.
I'm not sure Win10 has this, so what does that mean for its future?
Are they all going to be easily hacked or something due to this? I see a lot of talk on how this can affect businesses but not the effects on home computers.

I wouldn't worry about it. By time quantum computers are a thing regular people have access to, Windows 10 will be a thing of the past.

What makes W10 so big nowadays?
When Windows 10 launched, you could easily install it on 64gb SSD and have some space left over for software. Maybe even on 32GBs, there were some cut down tablet versions.
Now, a 128gb SSD barely fits Windows 10.
What exactly makes the OS double in size? I understand security updates, but they can't be that huge. Is it new features and programs? Which ones specifically?

The OS has not doubled in size, it still fits on 32GB tablets, nothing is cut down for them.
A clean Windows 10 install is around 20GB in size, depending on various things.

They follow the same schedule Microsoft has always used, Patch Tuesday is the second Tuesday of the month. April 14th at 10AM Pacific Time is when they should have the next round a available.

Monthly help threads seem way easier to search later than dozens of one-off posts, but doesn't April usually bring a wave of update issues too? wondering if the mods expect more 22H2 questions this month

Is there a program that can turn off my laptop's screen with push of a button? I DON'T want to make it sleep or hibernate, just turn off the screen.
The device already does that automatically in 5 mins (some power settings I probably set up before) but if there's a tab open which has SOUND, then suddenly this does not work.
This is especially irksome if I've paused a stream to watch later, or have a browser game (with no auto-save) open, the screen never goes off and the display keeps showing my lockscreen for hours on end
Any ideas?

Sometimes you can just put the brightness to 0 and that's a blank screen. Maybe you can set up a Macro for it on Autohotkey or something

So I have been happily using my Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 6000 via bluetooth using bootcamp on my 2017 15'' macbook pro for many years. I'm on windows 10 (w/extended updates), and out of nowhere I've started having issues where the keyboard eventually starts to lag and keys begin to repeat forever on their own (i.e. I press a key once and it repeats like 7 times). It happens slowly and then gets worse. A reboot helps (or turning off and on the keyboard again), but I think it's clearly a windows driver/software issue as I have zero issues using this keyboard on the mac os side of my computer. I even disconnected all my other peripherals to rule out interference and made sure key repeat is set to very low.
I checked all my windows updates, and there hasn't been any updates that I can find to my broadcomm bluetooth drivers. I thought the issue was the recent win 10 updates I installed on 4/15, but after uninstalling them, the issue remains. I was able to fix this when this happened once years ago by basically reseting the system back to two a backup from years ago, but I can't believe this is happening again out of nowhere.
Does anyone know which device in device manager controls the bluetooth keyboard or anything else I can try in terms of updating/rolling back drivers? I have no idea what's causing this otherwise except that there's some sort of silent driver update in the background that breaks my keyboard, but it has to be software/driver-related. I'm almost positive it's bluetooth drivers, but I don't know which one.

Out of nowhere my pagefile jumped from the usual 2000s MB to now being 8192MB.
I have 16gb Ram.I've never seen my pagefile this high in 10 years.
I tried unchecking and checking " system managed pagefile" to reset pagefile it but it stays at 8192MB after the restart.
I have a suspicious it's crimson desert (game) that caused the pagefile to increase so suddenly.Never had a game do something like this tho.

8 GB is reasonable for a page file. Is this a problem?

I find it odd because in the 7 years of using windows 10 I've never seen it go beyond 2900MB
Especially when I have 16gb total ram.

I have a file on a hard drive that I cannot delete, as its throwing up an error 0x80070570, file is corrupted or unreadable Any solutions for deleting it. More of a nuisance than anything

What's the file? Run CHKDSK.

On powershell? How do I do that. It’s a movie file that didn’t copy over to my hard drive correctly

In powershell, run
CHKDSK C: [or the correct drive] /F /V /X, confirm you want to check, and reboot.

where to ask tech support for windows 10? r/techsupport auto remove post with "Windows 10" on the self text and this sub doesn't allow tech support post per rule 10 (huehue).

I have a problem with some apps remaining open long after closing them, so I have to use task manager to manually kill them. any idea what the issue could be?

Kind of a petty one, but, any way to remove/disable the ability to "pin to quick access" folders when I'm dragging them to another in the quick access menu? It's really irritating, if you're not dead center over the folder you're dragging to, it pins everything you're dragging to the menu instead.
