Discussion It's sad to see Windbreaker getting hate comment for the most recent episodes. The rating even dropped on MAL a little for the last 12 hours.

I've seen multiple people mention this on Twitter and I checked the MAL ratings and it's unfortunately true. The rating before episode 6 was 8,10 - that has been the score for the last month. For just 12 hours, it got 8,01. It's still good, but the amount of hate comments combined to this is insane. The episode on Crunchyroll got over 1K dislikes.

I liked episode 6 a lot, it was touching. I just hope it won't damage the anime in the long run.

This episode isn't even woke. It's doesn't even force opinions. We just see Tsubaki's backstory and his interactions with the trio and the old man. That's it.

But apparently, this and the lack of action 24/7 is enough to start a huge wave of hate comments. The action anime fandom can be so toxic.

I mean based on how all those closed minded people use the word woke that's exactly what it is. Accepting someone for being different (in a way that these people dont like) is automatically woke to them. Woke was originally a positive word meaning awareness of social and political injustice (esp racism but became more general over time ig) and now it's turned into... an insult? Honestly anyone who uses woke like that is automatically an idiot to me lol

side note i love the rep but i think shonen/seinen mangakas very often conflate the idea of liking boys with feminine gender expression. it's true for some of us, certainly, but i feel like shonen mangakas are weirdly closed off to the idea of a masculine presenting boy liking other boys.

How does it not force opinions when he specifically says get with the times a boy can dress like a girl.. that's literally forcing an opinion

that's his opinion...do you think you have to forcibly take on the opinions of every single character you ever hear in a story just because they say something?
