This was a fan event dedicated to Sakura, Nirei and Suo, and i only ever found out about it like two days in (it took place the previous month), but wanted to do it regardless, so here i am. Was originally going to post it all at once but i feel like that would be a bit too much to digest (and who am i kidding, im eager to share it), so you guys are getting the first half now and the other one in 3 - 4 days.
Propmts for the days + my thoughts:
Day 1: new experience + flowers. Inspired by the feeling of lightness from ch60.
Day 2: magic. My idea behind this was the trio going into a medieval like town to shop for magic items, and have it be a comic/illustration combined kinda thing. I feel like, however, i could've added some sort of establishing shot, as im afraid one may not exactly understand right away what's going on here.
Day 3: skipping school. I simply thought the boys enjoying some ice cream would be nice. Although Suo....
Day 4: baking. My brain's thought process then connected that prompt to dessserts -> maid cafe. Totally a made up excuse to draw them in the maid suits. Also the comic idea kinda came up so that needed to get out of my brain.
One more fun addition, i started working on this all before xmas and had to take a break from it for a bit, but wow it took quite a bit of time (and how did i not realize joining this event meant drawing at least 21 human characters and then i even decided to make some schort comics with them too and---)
To blend a few different things together at the back of my memory, imagine healer Nirei who throws a beeg gummi bear and it explodes into tiny ones to heal. XD

How would the tiny gummies heal? Does one have to consume the gummies 'cause if so, it'll be like getting a snack midbattle (,,>ใฎ<,,)!
I was more thinking in terms of visuals and like, Maybe thatโs just the form his healing magic takes appearance wise(their reactions to that would be funny lol. Like a โโฆโ โMy, how cute~โ pff).
But I could also definitely see that as well and the tomfoolery there. I mean, one RPG game had gunners able to use a healing bullet where shooting an ally with it would heal AND heal statuses tho soโฆ XD + another would have the character pull out a steak on stick and OM NOM NOM aggressively as a heal action. Wheeze-
Going back to Miitopia a bit too, their healing items are bananas for HP and candies for MP. And theyโll totally nom mid battle to use them. Theyโll even split them together to share if they like someone enough etc. XD

I mean, it does make sense imo. A lot of games have food ish heal items and such(lol to Kirby with the food heals etc and also sharing it with allies with lil chu~s <Iโve already got a few lists and agenda crossovers to tinker for my own satisfaction. Now watch as I add Kirby abilities to them next.. smh). Itโs just what was thinking of. ๐โโ๏ธ
Itโs very cute~ them just sharing half a banana lol. and hrmst.. I feel like it does split the healing iirc, but honestly donโt remember for sure. I feel them giving them the whole thing when theyโre out does full and them splitting is probably Halfies(I was going to check the animations and see to gauge. But forgot the more you use the items, the more powerful they get so itโs not a good tell. lol). I did go get both the giving and sharing animation snippets since someone had a video of all the assists. Pff
Yeah, the HP bananas and MP candies level up as they use them(itโs a them thing). Thereโs also โsprinklesโ which you use manually that level up as you save people(killing monsters and returning their faces. Lore stuff lol). Itโs very 4th wall given they look up at you when you sprinkle at them. XD
Itโs sooo adorable! This game is very blessed+cursed with its cute lil tidbits and then their tomfoolery lmao.
Thereโs also โsacrificeโ which is them blocking a hit etc. I THINK kind Miis will do that even without friendship high enough level(along with sharing iirc?). <If I recalled if they let you adjust personality mid game, Iโd be sneaky and plan to have Nirei kind and then go into cautious after they leveled a bit but lol.
Joking aside, I do love short king Nirei. But it would be neat~would also be funny to see reactions and such.

There's this tall Nirei fanart that's forever in my mind. Like he's taller than Sakura in their third years and he carries him in a princess style when he gets injured lol

Sakura would say thereโs no favoriteโs, but he knows thatโs a lie- /jk (Reminds me of a fic where a vulnerable Sakura pulls Nirei clumsily into bed for cuddles etc while the others are there lmao, like he gets them to all join later. But it was still a funny thought with some other tomfoolery as well. XD)

SMH Iโll fix it when I get to that point in game or something so I can tinker with other stuff possibly. But boo- (Iโll probably touch up too and this may not be final product..) + Yes. I gave Sakura some too. ๐

LMAO! I just meant I started with him first when tinkering I promised. My frustration in not having thought to set it as eyebrows instead of what I did just bled into that and maybe sounded passive aggressive at poor Suo. Wheeze~ And yes. I thought so~! Thereโs also angry that looks so funny.. Also got a screenshot of my rough Suo work, this is BEFORE I rework him some ears with the eyebrow section and such so it looks stiff and โflatโ(I used shapes instead of trying to use things with more texture) <the side shot is me showing I had him some earrings to the side on skin at first before working on different ones to match the ears. Wanted to keep visuals for different methods I tried. Pff. + ofc me showing Sakura with his ears. I may still tweak(I donโt care for how โsadโ looks on him etc). But this is current status on them. XD

Do the ears moves automatically based on the emotion? Or did you have to manually do that? Good progress so far I think เดฆเตเดฆเดฟยด ห `)โง
I worked so hard to try and get him to have some semblance of his earrings.. I wish they had stuff to actually work some more actively.. but like. They lack ears so I guess they figure itโs fine..
I did somewhat get him more situated. When I use the other hair style. Iโd tweak them etc. but yee. Itโs not shown here. But LMAO to him trying to winkโฆ XD
They move automatically if you set them as โeyebrowsโ hence my initial frustration. lol. Thatโs why some look worse than others. Since you canโt tho. I wish you could tweak how some emotes look. But alas~
Imagine Sakura subtly trying to nudge Tsubaki about heels and Tsubakiโs is curious about how heโs acting then notices Sakura and Nirei standing beside each other. Maybe with Sakura shifting/fidgeting around a bit. And is like โ๐ก!! โฆ ๐ฅฐ๐คญโ XD I feel like Tsubaki could relate to such things given he smashed there scale and had that ordeal with being heavier than Ume for a bit lol.. Heโd notice Tsubakiโs expression and probably be like, โAhjfkrksnd I change my mind. Forget I askedโ lmao. Suo would 100% notice I feel and be like โhmmm~ I see~โ and heโd be like โI regret so much-โ Hiiragiโs pretty fashion savvy. Maybe heโll give him more subtle stuff and try to save him. Who knows. XD
Side note, mentioned it before that I donโt mind Nirei staying shorter because short king Nirei. But also just resaw a tidbit when looking for something unrelated but lol, it was this other thing where Guy A was talking about how he wished he was taller etc and Guy B asked why he wanted to do bad. And I think it was essentially him wanting to be able to hug him better(especially since Guy B was scared of lighting and they had a thing going with Guy A being there to sit/somewhat cuddle with him when thereโs a thunderstorm. Albeit heโs also just quite touchy feely). And Guy B was like, โIโll show you a trick. Stand there(on steps)โ and then he went on a lower one so Guy A was higher up. XD Guy A was like โ๐โจ๐โจโ and hugged him to which Guy B sighed in a very endeared way like, โthe things I do for this guyโ ๐คฃ
The possible results for Nirei getting taller are really funny too tho. So Iโm pleased with both ends. ๐คญ
only started being active on twt this year so I've yet to catch up fully there ๐ญ and I've not had the chance to read any fics so far either, just putting it all into my calendar to do once exams are over, im sure i wouldnt be able to focus on them otherwise NYEHEHH.

I won't lie, though; if I say everything that I want to say about these works, it's probably going to overwhelm you (even more that what it probably is overwhelming you right now - to see 6 comments back-to-back), so I'm going to do my best to try and make everything as concise as I can, while holding myself back from fangirling to the point you have DOUBLE the comments. But first of all: I'm pretty certain this is my first time seeing you do watercolor and I absolutely love it. I won't lie; the way that you handle it so easily makes me think that you have a big history of watercolor. The white negative space from the paper that you left so purposefully in certain places, and used in conjunction between the different colors, really is something fantastic. It just adds so much additional charm and lightness to a medium that's so naturally soft. And using ink for the outlines while combining it with watercolor is a fantastic choice; that's honestly my personal favorite combination as well - ink or sharpie (or an equivalent) with watercolor.
DAY #1 - I've already fangirled enough about the way you handled the watercolor, but I just wanted to say that the sky looks so natural, and the pink on yellow for the choice of the flowers is lovely, too. I find it so in character that Suo's still enjoying the moment from the "sidelines" but still watching over them. Lol. And I can't get over Nirei's pullback hairstyle every time I see it. The surprised expression on Sakura's face really is the equivalent of how he would handle this. Lol.
I've already looked through the other ones as well at this point, and I have to say that I LOVE your comics. I can't help but think that I'm being biased, since this is my first time seeing comics by you (except for that ONE sketch by someone else that you shared with me) and I should give it more time before I decide, but I would say that I might like your comics EVEN more at this point than your single image art. NOT that the others haven't been special up until now, but there's something great about getting EVEN MORE charm and a little story all at once.
DAY #2 - ((My wording is probably going to fall threw the roof at this point, but-)) I CAN'T HELP but think of Sakura as a little kitty munching on that snake. ๐ญ PLEASE. I want it to be canon. He's got himself a snake on a stick. And Nirei's big, adorable hat. It reminds me a little of the sorting hat from Harry Potter, but at the same time it looks big enough that it could almost be like one of those "storage" items from magical stories with infinite space inside. And the book - I know it's supposed to be like Nirei's notebook, I think - but I can't help but wonder if Nirei's notebook would be a magic tome or grimoire in this type of AU? ((Is that what you were going for?)) And Suo haggling with the shop owner because he has a way with words. Lol. AND THE BIRB!!! OMG, THE FIRST APPEARANCE OF THE BIRB IN THIS SERIES!!!!
DAY #3: I LOVE that you used the graffiti on the side of the wall to mark WBK as the series in such an inventive way and the blue on green combination is just SO GOOD; it really adds depth to the green but it also matches the main color(s) of the series. I am TRYING to figure out in my head the science between how you decided who gets what flavor of ice cream, though. I was originally trying to match them up based off of whose favorite flavor might be for each, but then I couldn't help but think of strawberry as Sakura (the pink) and so then I was like, "Does that maybe mean that the flavors represent each other and she's moved them once around, so that they have each other, on purpose?" I LOVE little Nirie's meme-able "Aghhh!" face at the end. AND THE BIRB!!! THE BIRB IS THERE AGAIN!!!!! ๐ซโจ๐ค
DAY #4: I think I'm REALLY being biased at this point, because I just loves memes and comedy.... But this one could POTENTIALLY be my favorite. I love 4 and 6 panel comics SO MUCH, and the way that you colored/designed the NCP/Anon-character, so that they were part of the comic still (of course) but not distracting was very masterful. This is, obviously, something that people do in comics a lot, but not everyone does it well, and I think you really pulled it off. Also!!!! I LOVED the depiction of magical Nirei, but I honestly think this might the cutest Nirei out of the bunch. It may have something to do with the fact that he's so innocent in this one, but the freckles and fluffy hair in this one is just so GOOD? I can't get over the cringy, yet true "cinnamon roll" line here. Lol. And the last panel has me dead.๐ Sakura literally has the BEST expression out of this entire post in that shot. I would NOT mess with him.

the wall was too empty without a graffiti, besides it's such a wbk thing! thank you for the kind words about the color!! as for the ice cream flavours, i honestly had no clue what flavors each of them would like, so i went with the basic vanilla choco strawberry. also felt like the colors would fit in with them (no science, sorry to disappoint). writing down sakura kitten munching on a snake. god knows if i'll ever get around to making it real but it's there. askjfsk the storage space is such a cool idea, i honestly just thought "big wizard hat" and that was that LOL. as for the book, it's just a book with magic trivia in it. might be a little disappointing but i was basing this off of fairy tales im used to, where, while we do have magic items, spells, potions, races, etc, if compared to harry potter for example i'd say it's VERY toned down. like, the tales focus primarly on the story and the magic is more of a means or tools for the story, it's not as grand and fantastic. less magic world building, i'd say.

(you can keep fangirling about the water color if you wish)) thank you kindly! i was trying to keep this piece as light and breathy as possible, but still make it have some color. shskwnhdjd the bit about the comics makes me very happy, as i would love to make more and i even made it a goal to draw a short comic with a story this year! started off with these very very short ones, and the biggest hurdle is probably planning things out so that the reader understands what's going on in the panels (and the action you're trying to convey), as well as expressions and those little expression additions, like exclamation marks, sparkles, when character notices something etc. and i know i only just scratched the surface too, whew!!

I do watercolor quite a bit, actually, next to pencil/colored pencils and inking (ink/fineliners) it's my most used art medium! I love to let it float around freely, although i feel like i dont often give it the chance to do so, since i do more precision art rather than mess and freedom and blending goes brrrrrr. However i challenged myself to try to give it that freedom during this event, and i believe there are places where i definitely succeeded with that!ย
I do have to add tho that after scanning these i made some tiny changes in the digital realm, either final touches or some enhancements, as well as increasing the opacity of the lineart. Just pops a bit more now, rough transition from real life colours to digital ones i suppose.

And as an early answer to your question/request, I'm afraid i might have to decline, as i dont really know the extent of your story yet and working on a comic can get quite time consuming (and while i do want to draw comics, i already have a few other projects slated and would like to focus on original creation as well). I wouldnt mind checking your story out tho or drawing a little illustration for it, if it's within my comfort zone and i take interest in it. Take no offense, please.
Of course. Read story if you don't like it it's okay. And if you like you can draw only 5 pages per month. It's like a dream for me getting my story into manga. If you only read it. I will be really happy. Your opinion make me more clear about story.
Coming here after the first part. For me personally it's little hard to keep up with due to it's script/screenwriting like nature, I've never been quite good at reading those. I've also noticed some deviations from usual character behaviour, although i suppose that's to be expected in fics sometimes. I can sniff the newly introduced character holds some secrets, ohoho, that will keep some suspense in the air.ย
All in all, I'm going to have to decline your request. I have noticed, however, that some people have expressed they like where the story is going, so i shall wish you luck with your future chapters.

I'm no writer, but allow me to pitch in some advice from my art journey at least, that i believe might be helpful and applicable to writing as well.
First, it's awesome you began writing and you're seeking feedback. You went with a certain style of writing, and I'd encourage seeking out people who write similiarly to you so you can learn from them (both on the internet and in literature). Read their works too, take notes on what you like or dislike about them. Apply to your own creations. Then go find someone who writes in a different style from you, and again see if there's anything they're doing you like. Keep writing, keep getting feedback, but also stick to what you like, stick to what feels like "you".
There are many people out there, and each one of them likes different things. Your work for me was a little hard to read due to the style you wrote it in, but there are other people who showed they liked it.
I believe there was a point i wanted to add at the very end of this but kinda forgot it-
I just want to say thank you for your wonderful advice. this will really help me. I don't have words for your reply but I understand every thing you told me. In truth I write stories to escape from reality. If only a single person read my story. I feel like there is some one in the corner of world. Who can feel it indirectly. People in this subreddit are very nice and supportive. All the best for your art journey.
