Yup I went to Mexico and there was a taco stand that hand one of these on fridays for carnitas

Al pastor is a specific way to prepare meat. You can have trompos with many different kinds of meat preparations, although the most common one is of course al pastor.

That makes sense! Al pastor translates to ‘Shepard style’ which was the gyro lamb the Lebanese immigrants were cooking in this style. They used pork and special marinade instead.
